Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) is one of the oldest agricultural crops known to man, cultivated as early as 4000 B.C. in China. It needs no pesticides to grow, chokes out other weeds, and leaves the soil rich and fertile for other crops. It grows very quickly, is eco-friendly, weather resistant and is incredibly tough- its strength to weight ratio is actually higher than steel.
It has an enormous number of health benefits and uses, and was criminalized only because it posed a great threat to other, inferior industries in our corporate age. Yet it is probably the most versatile plant on earth: its roots and seeds are amazingly beneficial food products which can be made into flour, milk, tea, butter, and much more. Its stalk is used for rope, textiles, paper and construction materials. Its oil can provide paint, detergent, lubricants, varnish, ink and more. Its THC content is too low to be psychoactive, and although it is commonly confused with the marijuana people smoke to get high , it´s not the same thing.
