No Boots on the Ground, Obama Okays 1,500 More Troops for Iraq
This administration’s wartime messaging is full of more lies and doubletalk than candy in a pinata. These people kept repeating “Truth is the first casualty of war” after reading Chris Hedges that they confused it with directions.

President Obama authorized Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on Friday to send up to 1,500 additional U.S. troops to Iraq, roughly doubling the force the United States has built up since June to fight the Islamic State militants who control much of Iraq and Syria.
So we’re going to have thousands of men in a war zone but it’s not boots on the ground because they’re advisers, bystanders or wearing sneakers.
The idea that we’re not going to have people in harm’s way went out the door during the Sinjar rescue. We’re flying strikes against ISIS using aircraft that is vulnerable to some of the gear they have.
Obviously we’re now going to have a lot of soldiers on the ground and in harm’s way. It’s the constant lying that is becoming a problem.
Obama lied about he was doing in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya… and now Iraq again. That some kind of dubious record. He’s never been willing to be straight with the American people about such simple issues as…
1. The reason for the war
2. The goal of the war
3. The fact that there even is a war
4. American involvement in the war
This is an administration so addicted to confused messaging that it tried to pull the Iraq War authorization, then used it, then asked for a new one.
Truth doesn’t have to be the first casualty of war.
