Can't someone else do it? Homeless shelters alone are discriminatory. Single woman don't have a marriage license just to stay in many shelters across the U.S. Some shelters require that you fail a drug test just for a bed to sleep at night out of the freezing cold. Others only take young men who can do physical labor. Some homeless shelters have you pay rent. If you don't meet the criteria then you have no where to go. A single disabled homeless veteran is left out in the cold. A single homeless female veteran of any age is left out in the cold. Non drug addicts are left out in the cold. VETERANS Administration is not going to change anytime soon. Wounded Warrior Project only helps the younger generation of veterans from Operation Iraqi Freedom and all others are left out in the cold. HVAF only prints out a booklet and leaves all veterans out in the cold.

 Refugees get cash assistance from nearly every state, While homeless veterans got no assistance. Refugees are given government entitlements like housing, cars, and money to start their own business while our veterans get nothing.

My friend has stated to me simple this Joseph F Barber Your city is awful in assisting the homeless. There are no shelters that take homeless single woman without children. There are no shelters for older men and women. The age cut off leaves most of the homeless population on the streets. There are no options for if the homeless person is single and not a drug addict. They charge %30 to %50 of income in rent. If you are homeless without income, you have no where to go. If the homeless person is without California ID then they can't get anything on the way of assistance.and onn that he would be correct 

Homer has sent out this information to help we the people see the truth in the establishments Idea of helping our fellow human beings ,here are the ID requirements for Indiana. The birth certificate and State ID requirements are listed here. As you should note a utility bill is required for the State ID. The State ID is required to get your birth certificate and the birth certificate is required to get the State ID. And the cash requirement to pay for them. To get to the office locations bus fare is also required. That's $4 plus $10 plus $13 as homeless people are not eligible to vote because of no address. A homeless person has to have the ID requirements just to get off of the streets and get needed services.











For a homeless person to get clothes a referral is required. To get that referral, the homeless person must spend 5 days traveling around the city and collecting documents. That's $4 a day times 5 days which equals $20. That's $20 just to get a change of clothes and they might not have anything that fits.


If you are homeless and try to get food at a pantry, a utility bill is required. This one gives a small snack if you can't get a utility bill which is a bottle of water. As it requires a $4 bus pass just to get there, that's a $4 just to get a bottle of water. It's cheaper to buy a bottle of water

Listed on this page is the only place a homeless person under 24 can get services. Other social service agencies do not assist the homeless under 21. Can you ,you see which one it is? The ID is also required to get a free hot meal. Do you know what is required to get a state ID in Indiana? The service agencies listed are in areas where the homeless are not allowed to stay. That means a $4 bus pass is needed just to get a free hot meal.


ID required just to get a meal at all of these locations. As the homeless are not allowed to stay in the area where the hots meals are served a bus pass is also required to get there. That's $4 needed just to get a free hot meal.






These are the requirements to stay in an Indianapolis woman's homeless shelter.

You have to have photo ID, birth certificate and social security cards and a marriage license.

A single woman alone can't stay at either of these shelters. A single mother with children can't stay at either of these shelters.

Homeless people don't have all of the requirements to stay there.


This is the process I take in helping and supporting our Homeless veterans. I am not a caseworker but just a person who cares.

First I sit and talk to them. I get to know them.

Second, I help them get a mailing address. Sometimes, a trusted relative or Friend will let mail go to their address for the homeless veteran. In other cases, a caseworker will let them use an office address for mail.

Then, we work on paperwork like state ID, Social Security Card, birth certificate, etc. I help them get needed medical care set up.

After that, I help them tackle the Veterans Administration or Social Security Administration to apply for federal benefits to get income. With income comes housing.

For one homeless veteran, I printed off the documents that he needs to fill out for the Veterans Administration. This is
the pile of paperwork for the Veterans Administration to get assistance for one of the homeless veterans that I help. Next, we have to jump through hoops and get the supporting documents. At least, he will have expedited processing. That's 20 sheets of paper plus the 20 sheets needed in supporting documents and that doesn't include the instruction pages.

So has many who read this can see the establishments well as our government are not helping our Veterans or homeless citizens alike it's up to we the people to STAND AND BE COUNTED
