Who is the real enemy: Israel or Muslim brotherhood?

Who is the real enemy: Israel or Muslim brotherhood?

Cairo, Egypt—While the majority of Egyptians were celebrating the anniversary of their army’s victory in the last war (1973 Arab–Israeli War) between Egypt and Israel—which led to the signing of the Camp David peace treaty, the Muslim Brotherhood chose to play the role of an alternative enemy and launched attacks on Egyptians by planting bombs, burning cars and shooting at unarmed civilians marring the anniversary.

Several days before, the Brotherhood had threatened to take over the famous “Tahrir Square” which witnessed latter Egyptian revolutions.  They did this in order to send messages to the outside world that they are the strongest force in Egypt, but when they couldn’t enter the Square because of the large numbers of moderate Egyptians as well as police forces, the Brotherhood instead staged multiple marches throughout Cairo and the provinces. All these marches were violent, carried out under the banner of al-Qaeda.

Bombs were planted in subway stations, in front of ministry offices, Police stations in Cairo and elsewhere.  Only one exploded,  in front of the Security Directorate in southern Sinai, killing five people and wounding dozens. Brotherhood members shot randomly at citizens,  while hurling insults at the army and Gen.  el-Sisi, spray-painting houses, shop doors, subway stations around the city.

This result was 53 killed and nearly 270 injured,  according to the Ministry of Health. The ‘Democracy Index’ issued 37 cases of violence and terrorism, 17 clashes with citizens and 11 clashes with Security forces. In most of the incidents the Brotherhood used firearms.  The report pointed out that the group lost any chance of reconciliation or coexistence with people, and went a long way to increase the gap between them and average Egyptians. Instead of gaining sympathy, the Brotherhood earned hostility.

In the past month alone, violent incidents by the Brotherhood left 88 dead and 750 injured. Instead of October 6 being a joyous celebration of victory for Egyptians, it became another black page added to the Muslim Brotherhood history.

In exclusive statements to this Canada Free Press (CFP) reporter,  a number of politicians described The Brotherhood’s October 6 rallies as a failure, adding that the Muslim Brotherhood committed political suicide as a result of its systematic violence against the Egyptian people.  Politicians are now demanding that the government ban these demonstrations by implementing emergency law.

Gamal Asaad, a political activist, considers the Brotherhood rallies as a new attempt to create confusion in the Egyptian street.  Asaad added:  the ability of the Brotherhood to gather crowds to demonstrate has undoubtedly become very weak, as the group suffers low popularity with citizens.  Brotherhood charges that the government is cracking down on them fails in the face of the government continuing to allow them to demonstrate.

Shawky Elsayed, a constitutional jurist, confirmed the Brotherhood marches and demonstrations as a failure, adding that the Brotherhood pretends to follow the principle of “obedience” while killing innocent citizens on the street.

Dr. Hamid Al-Jamal, former head of the Council of State said: This terrorist group is based on the exercise of violence and terrorism to apply their principles to establish a Muslim Brotherhood State, and to impose their own law on the Egyptian people.  They rely on violence, murder and destruction their “peaceful protests” have nothing to do with peace.

Al-Jamal added that the Brotherhood’s continuing violent demonstrations strategize to draw the attention of Western countries, led by America to intervene in the country.

Islam Katatni, a dissident from the Muslim Brotherhood and the nephew of the Brotherhood leader Saad Katatni, said that the Brotherhood will write their own death certificate.  Katatni described the Brotherhood deeds as “political stupidity”, pointing out that everything that happens in Egypt is planned by the Muslim Brotherhood international organization abroad, led by fugitive leaders hiding in safety.

The ousted Muslim Brotherhood president Mohamed Morsi, placed the killers of president Anwar Sadat—who planned and executed the 1973 Arab-Israeli war—on the main stage in front of him during last year’s celebrations. This was a bold move showing that the Muslim Brotherhood sees the killers of President Sadat as heroes.

Recently, Egyptian security spotted a meeting of the Brotherhood international organization’s leaders in Qatar, developing their plans for the October 6 anniversary attack.

The demonstrations were their last hope to try to confuse Egyptians, to score any gains, and calm the angry young members of the group after the international situation changes of the Egyptian revolution, particularly the European Union and the United States—which was confirmed by EU representative Catherine Ashton during her current visit to Egypt when she hotly denied that she ever said that what happened in Egypt was a “coup”!
