ObamaCare, Nuclear option
The distinctive odors of classic totalitarianism
Over the past few weeks, I, as have many of you, received electronic letters from our representatives in Congress about the legitimacy of the “Law of the Land”, the unaffordable Affordable Care Act (ACA) and, that we should succumb.
Now, given that not a single Republican voted for it, and that not a single Democrat against it, is it no wonder its legitimacy is being questioned by the American people? The outright bribery of Democrat Senators and Representatives for their votes by President Obama; and, a Supreme Court decision where nobody on the Court, even those who agree with Robert’s conclusions, concurs with his reasoning, has infuriated a majority of the population.
Now, in its early implementation we have the lying about lying, a disingenuous apology by the President, and a “nuclear option’ in the Senate all that seem to suggest prevarication and coercion were the fundamental pillars supporting ObamaCare from its beginning, and remain to this day. The American people must surely smell such coercion and lying as the distinctive odors of classic totalitarianism since ObamaCare has never polled a positive majority. It is, in fact, disintegrating among the citizenry’s opinion.
I have to ask, who are these people defending the indefensible with their hectoring in an attempt to convince me they are robbing me for my own benefit? Every man is allowed his insanity but President Obama and his Democrat colleagues have exceeded their limit with the ACA. Have they elected to participate: Not yet, so why the coercion? This is a clear substitution of political thinking for critical thinking in a desire to increase personal and party power at citizen expense. There is no ‘true north’ in their personal actions.
The irony of the Democrat argument is that the “Tea Party”, they claim as anarchists, seems to be the only group of Americans who understand that the welfare state is mathematically impossible. The false promise of a Dreamtime by the Progressives has now become a fiscal and political nightmare. The ACA adds to the enduring truth that one should never underestimate a country’s inability to imagine its own destruction by its political elite through their selfish quest for power with means that are morally unjustifiable, but best serve their desired outcomes. If that is not so, then what is?
Failure will be the legacy of the ACA as that is the plain history of the world. The real solution for our Republic leading to patient based medical insurance is simple: unleash the powerful forces of the American entrepreneurial class by separating health insurance from the employer and thus returning the individual to his rightful place as the first party participant. What else has ever worked more successfully in America than each of us being first party participants in our personal transactions? That is our history!
