Outrage! U.S. is snubbing secret weapon against ISIS
Don’t lay a medal on me.
And don’t send me money, no matter how much my discovery has meant or might come to mean to you. It all just came to me in a big rush. It’s not scientific. It doesn’t work every time. If you use it and it works, you needn’t even write. I’m happy for you.
One day, quite by accident, I discovered an effective way for a man to determine whether a woman thinks of him as a potential lover. It’s based on the premise that a woman characterizes a man’s potential within mere moments of their first encounter.
You need about 50 feet of walking beside her, and she must be carrying a handbag or other encumbrance on one side. Let’s say she’s carrying something in her right hand. You start off walking on her left side. After a few steps, you casually transfer over to her encumbered side, her right side.
If deep down she considers you a potential sleeping partner, she will instinctively shift her handbag over to her unencumbered side, her left-hand side!
That doesn’t mean she’s ready to even hold hands. Never mind, if she transitions her load to leave her hand that’s closer to you free for holding, that means you’ve won the primary and things look favorable for you in the November election!
This is often totally subconscious on the woman’s part. It’s a “tell.” Although I first shared this observation decades ago on the radio, I really don’t like to publicize it too much because it’s a powerful bit of information that not all men even deserve to know and use (although some have used it to great advantage for years), and because if too many women become aware of how they telegraph a subconscious decision, they will surely avoid sending the signal or even use it to send false signals. And then there are men who will simply never take the hint.
I applied that principle to American foreign policy and wound up in the depression ditch. In mid-April a top official of the Kurdish government was interviewed on Fox News. We’re facing an enemy in ISIS that outdoes the Nazi Germans in creative cruelty. Our allies include Iraqi army troops famous for dropping their weapons and running at the sight or sound of what might be enemy activity. Our allies also include the Kurds, whose “Peshmerga” forces (the term means “one who confronts death”), using weapons from the middle of the last century, are beating the ISIS enemy armed with some of the highest-tech weapons around, namely those dropped on the battlefield by our Iraqi allies so as to enable them to run away faster! It’s no joke. The plethora of modern weapons in ISIS hands, including the heavy stuff and the highly expensive stuff, is a national shame and an Obama administration scandal.
During World War II, no columnist would have to tell you so much about our Kurdish allies. Ten-year-old American boys would have vehemently argued at play, “Today it’s my turn to be the Kurds. I was ISIS yesterday!”
Point is, America dishes out big fat menus of modern weaponry directly to Baghdad, weapons intended to be shared with their Kurdish neighbors (theoretically) defending the same country. There is no “Kurdistan.” The Kurds are the largest ethnic group on earth without a country. It’s the most poorly kept secret of the war that Baghdad leaves its Kurds starved for the quality and quantity of weapons with which to defend their portion of Iraq. Again, you wouldn’t have to explain that to a 10-year-old American during World War II. And that’s a strong, if rarely discussed, indication of American decline.
The Kurdish spokesman on Fox News made the case in beautiful English shaped with elegant diplomatic nuance. They’re just not getting the goods from Baghdad, and they’d be so much more effective if they were. The Kurdish government spokesman, hamstrung by that need for diplomacy, had to hint, wink and gesture in hopes American viewers would catch on. He couldn’t say, “Why don’t you ship the weapons directly to us instead of to those traitorous thieving cowardly bastards in Baghdad?” We Americans are free to ask it, but we don’t!
We’re not holding hands with those begging for a better chance to save our necks.
Why don’t we rise up and ask, ask again and keep on asking until we get an answer as to why our valiant Kurdish allies who are holding land from ISIS, retaking land from ISIS and humiliating the ones whom Fox News calls the “ISIS savages” – why aren’t the Kurds getting their fair share of the weapons we send to Baghdad, and why aren’t we calling out in congressional hearings whoever it is who’s supposed to be supplying those arms to the best Islamic fighters we have fighting the jihadists? When will somebody like Rep. Trey Gowdy show Obama where the bear sat in the buckwheat?
However, suppose we did? The very next day, the media sky would be lit up with what one candidate said about another candidate’s wife. Or who slept with an unauthorized bedmate. Gone, lost but not forgotten, are the days when we embraced our allies and erased our enemies, instead of vice-versa. If you want America’s attention, touch us financially or erotically. Things like defending democracy and leading the Free World don’t interest us anymore. Thanks for these decades of civilization, America! I wish it could have been centuries!
Be assured: Our enemies clearly see how little we care, and about what. And whose hands we refuse to hold.
We know nothing about the Kurds. And when you don’t know, you can’t care. One of the first things they taught us in the Boy Scouts was, “Never help an old lady across the street if she doesn’t want to go.”
Forget about that muscular triumphant Uncle Sam. Obama’s made us a little old lady afraid to venture across the street!
