The elite revolt against 'values and tradition'

The elite revolt against 'values and tradition'

The revolt against globalization – or, more precisely, unaccountable worldwide authority over the lives of individuals – has the masters of the universe concerned.

In a revealing article in the latest issue of Foreign Policy magazine, the official voice of the Council on Foreign Policy, James Traub, who also writes for establishment journals such as the New York Times, Atlantic Monthly, National Review and Foreign Affairs, bluntly explains the next move by the globalists – “It’s time for the elites to rise up against the ignorant masses.”

It’s ironic that this piece was published just before Independence Day in the U.S. – a holiday celebrating the polar opposite of what the global elite are trying to achieve.

Traub, born the same year I was, 1954, frames his plucky manifesto by explaining that what is happening in our world today makes the 1960s look like an age of harmony and stability for political and cultural institutions. On that point, we agree.

He also suggests the Brexit referendum is not about the left vs. the right, but rather about “the sane vs. the mindlessly angry.”

On that observation, we disagree – unless the same are those who voted to leave the European Union and the mindlessly angry are those who favored staying, which, of course, is not Traub’s position.

He further surmises: “Today’s citizen revolt – in the United States, Britain, and Europe – may upend politics as nothing else has in my lifetime.” On that point, I agree.

So what is the view of the nature of this revolt from an enlightened insider?

He cites his own experience in Poland, where the globalist forces are on the run at the hands of the populist rebellion: “Supporters use the same words again and again to explain their vote: ‘values and tradition.'”

Traub really does believe the problem is white, working-class, middle-class “defenders of sovereignty.” He admits it. These people are irrationally angry, he suggests. There is no mention of liberty, self-government, the rule of law, justice, the will of the people.

That’s how the elites see this struggle – us against them.
He writes: “Perhaps politics will realign itself around the axis of globalization, with the fist-shakers on one side and the pragmatists on the other. The nationalists would win the loyalty of working-class and middle-class whites who see themselves as the defenders of sovereignty. The reformed center would include the beneficiaries of globalization and the poor and non-white and marginal citizens who recognize that the celebration of national identity excludes them.”

There you have it. The globalist strategy is to enlist as its shock troops “the beneficiaries of globalism” (read: corporations extended special benefits) and the poor and “non-white” populations alienated from identifying with their country.

This is a virtual admission that what we are seeing is an orchestrated crisis, an intentional strategy to divide and conquer to build a new world order devoid of inalienable individual rights and subject only to the privileges bestowed by government.

Traub sees no dislocation as a result of mass immigration in Europe or the U.S.

“Donald Trump has, of course, set a new standard for disingenuousness and catering to voters’ fears, whether over immigration or foreign trade or anything else he can think of,” he writes. “The Republican Party, already rife with science-deniers and economic reality-deniers, has thrown itself into the embrace of a man who fabricates realities that ignorant people like to inhabit.”

If you want to get a glimpse of candor from the globalist elite, you will want to review the piece in its entirety. But, here’s the bottom line: Anyone who opposes governance unaccountable to the will of the people and the rule of law is an angry know-nothing living in the past.

These folks are determined to achieve their objectives.

And there’s an implicit warning here: Prepare yourself for a counter-offensive from the elites.
