Forget the New World Order, Here’s Who Really Runs the World

Forget the New World Order, Here’s Who Really Runs the World

For decades, extreme ideologies on both the left and the right have clashed over the conspiratorial concept of a shadowy secret government pulling the strings on the world’s heads of state and captains of industry.

The phrase New World Order is largely derided as a sophomoric conspiracy theory entertained by minds that lack the sophistication necessary to understand the nuances of geopolitics. But it turns out the core idea — one of deep and overarching collusion between Wall Street and government with a globalist agenda — is operational in what a number of insiders call the “Deep State.”

In the past couple of years, the term has gained traction across a wide swath of ideologies. Former Republican congressional aide Mike Lofgren says it is the nexus of Wall Street and the national security state — a relationship where elected and unelected figures join forces to consolidate power and serve vested interests. Calling it “the big story of our time,” Lofgren says the deep state represents the failure of our visible constitutional government and the cross-fertilization of corporatism with the globalist war on terror.

“It is a hybrid of national security and law enforcement agencies: the Department of Defense, the Department of State, the Department of Homeland Security, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Justice Department. I also include the Department of the Treasury because of its jurisdiction over financial flows, its enforcement of international sanctions and its organic symbiosis with Wall Street,” he explained.

Even parts of the judiciary, namely the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, belong to the deep state.

How does the deep state operate?

A complex web of revolving doors between the military-industrial-complex, Wall Street,  and Silicon Valley consolidates the interests of defense contracts, banksters, military actions, and both foreign and domestic surveillance intelligence.

According to Mike Lofgren and many other insiders, this is not a conspiracy theory. The deep state hides in plain sight and goes far beyond the military-industrial complex President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned about in his farewell speech over fifty years ago.
http://www.npr.org/2011/01/17/132942244/ikes-warning-of-military-expansion-50-years-later

While most citizens are at least passively aware of the surveillance state and collusion between the government and the corporate heads of Wall Street, few people are aware of how much the intelligence functions of the government have been outsourced to privatized groups that are not subject to oversight or accountability. According to Lofgren, 70% of our intelligence budget goes to contractors.
http://billmoyers.com/episode/the-deep-state-hiding-in-plain-sight/

Moreover, while Wall Street and the federal government suck money out of the economy, relegating tens of millions of people to food stamps and incarcerating more people than China — a totalitarian state with four times more people than us — the deep state has, since 9/11, built the equivalent of three Pentagons, a bloated state apparatus that keeps defense contractors, intelligence contractors, and privatized non-accountable citizens marching in stride.
http://www.nbcnews.com/business/economy/who-uses-food-stamps-millions-children-n52931

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/23/world/americas/23iht-23prison.12253738.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

After years of serving in Congress, Lofgren’s moment of truth regarding this matter came in 2001. He observed the government appropriating an enormous amount of money that was ostensibly meant to go to Afghanistan but instead went to the Persian Gulf region. This, he says, “disenchanted” him from the groupthink, which, he says, keeps all of Washington’s minions in lockstep.
http://billmoyers.com/2014/02/21/anatomy-of-the-deep-state/

Groupthink — an unconscious assimilation of the views of your superiors and peers — also works to keep Silicon Valley funneling technology and information into the federal surveillance state. Lofgren believes the NSA and CIA could not do what they do without Silicon Valley. It has developed a de facto partnership with NSA surveillance activities, as facilitated by a FISA court order.
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2015/06/usa-freedom-act-fisa-court-transparency

Now, Lofgren notes, these CEOs want to complain about foreign market share and the damage this collusion has wrought on both the domestic and international reputation of their brands. Under the pretense of pseudo-libertarianism, they helmed a commercial tech sector that is every bit as intrusive as the NSA. Meanwhile, rigging of the DMCA intellectual property laws — so that the government can imprison and fine citizens who jailbreak devices — behooves Wall Street. It’s no surprise that the government has upheld the draconian legislation for the 15 years.

It is also unsurprising that the growth of the corporatocracy aids the deep state. The revolving door between government and Wall Street money allows top firms to offer premium jobs to senior government officials and military yes-men. This, says Philip Giraldi, a former counter-terrorism specialist and military intelligence officer for the CIA, explains how the Clintons left the White House nearly broke but soon amassed $100 million. It also explains how former general and CIA Director David Petraeus, who has no experience in finance, became a partner at the KKR private equity firm, and how former Acting CIA Director Michael Morell became Senior Counselor at Beacon Global Strategies.
http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/deep-state-america/

Wall Street is the ultimate foundation for the deep state because the incredible amount of money it generates can provide these cushy jobs to those in the government after they retire. Nepotism reigns supreme as the revolving door between Wall Street and government facilitates a great deal of our domestic strife:
http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/deep-state-america/

“Bank bailouts, tax breaks, and resistance to legislation that would regulate Wall Street, political donors, and lobbyists. The senior government officials, ex-generals, and high level intelligence operatives who participate find themselves with multi-million dollar homes in which to spend their retirement years, cushioned by a tidy pile of investments,” said Giraldi.

How did the deep state come to be?

Some say it is the evolutionary hybrid offspring of the military-industrial complex while others say it came into being with the Federal Reserve Act, even before the First World War. At this time, Woodrow Wilson remarked,
http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/deep-state-america/

“We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”

This quasi-secret cabal pulling the strings in Washington and much of America’s foreign policy is maintained by a corporatist ideology that thrives on deregulation, outsourcing, deindustrialization, and financialization. American exceptionalism, or the great “Washington Consensus,” yields perpetual war and economic imperialism abroad while consolidating the interests of the oligarchy here at home.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/william-k-black/blocking-a-bad-idea-that-_b_2495631.html

Mike Lofgren says this government within a government operates off tax dollars but is not constrained by the constitution, nor are its machinations derailed by political shifts in the White House. In this world — where the deep state functions with impunity — it doesn’t matter who is president so long as he or she perpetuates the war on terror, which serves this interconnected web of corporate special interests and disingenuous geopolitical objectives.

“As long as appropriations bills get passed on time, promotion lists get confirmed, black (i.e., secret) budgets get rubber stamped, special tax subsidies for certain corporations are approved without controversy, as long as too many awkward questions are not asked, the gears of the hybrid state will mesh noiselessly,” according to Mike Lofgren in an interview with Bill Moyers.
http://billmoyers.com/episode/the-deep-state-hiding-in-plain-sight/

Interestingly, according to Philip Giraldi, the ever-militaristic Turkey has its own deep state, which uses overt criminality to keep the money flowing. By comparison, the U.S. deep state relies on a symbiotic relationship between banksters, lobbyists, and defense contractors, a mutant hybrid that also owns the Fourth Estate and Washington think tanks.

Is there hope for the future?

Perhaps. At present, discord and unrest continues to build. Various groups, establishments, organizations, and portions of the populace from all corners of the political spectrum, including Silicon Valley, Occupy, the Tea Party, Anonymous, WikiLeaks, anarchists and libertarians from both the left and right, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and whistleblowers like Edward Snowden and others are beginning to vigorously question and reject the labyrinth of power wielded by the deep state.

Can these groups — can we, the people — overcome the divide and conquer tactics used to quell dissent? The future of freedom may depend on it.

9/11: Eternal Pretext, Eternal War

9/11: Eternal Pretext, Eternal War

G.W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Tony Blair: War Criminals Scheduled To Visit Canada In OctoberG.W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Tony Blair:  War Criminals Scheduled To Visit Canada In October
The false flag operation of 9/11 was not an “intelligence failure”. It was the greatest “intelligence success” and criminal operation in history.

The Bush/Cheney administration’s 9/11 atrocity set in motion the world war that continues to expand and metastasize to this day. This war—the “war on terrorism”, the war on Afghanistan and Iraq, the war on Libya, the “war on the Islamic State” etc. is the same single war, all rooted in the Big Lie of 9/11. No corner of the world has escaped the reach of this still-growing horror. No individual is untouched by its flames. Thousands upon thousands have been murdered. Entire societies have been wiped out and displaced.

Today’s world—of endless war for oil, endless false flag terror operations and atrocities, unabated political criminality, economic looting, social upheaval, fascism, surveillance and cyber terror, and global war/intelligence-industrial police state—is the fruit of 9/11.

Fourteen years and countless false flag terror operations later, the US government is on the verge of toppling Syria using Al-Qaeda military-intelligence assets. The US now openly supports and arms Al-Qaeda all over the world. The very same Al-Qaeda terrorists that were “responsible for 9/11” are the West’s finest foot soldiers and military-intelligence assets. Al-Qaeda effectively controls two-thirds of Syria for the Anglo-American empire. Libya was overthrown by the same forces.

All of this merely brings us back to the inescapable conspiracy fact that the empire no longer bothers to hide:

Islamic “terrorists”, Al-Qaeda and its many functionaries (including the conveniently removed and semi-fictional Osama bin Laden) have been in the continuous employ of western forces and the CIA since the Cold War—before and since 9/11, up to this very minute. Al-Qaeda is American-made and CIA-sponsored. As written by Michel Chossudovsky, “those who lead the ‘Global War on Terrorism’ in the name of ‘Democracy’ are those who are supporting and financing the terrorist organizations which they themselves created”. The Islamic State is merely a variation upon the theme. It is also “American made”, openly supported and utilized by the United States and its allies, and under orders of US-NATO sponsors and handlers.

Today, Washington’s war makers can openly and freely embrace their terrorist associates and functionaries, and do so with confidence. The original 9/11 myth is so deeply embedded into the brain synapses that subsequent distortions do not even register. The acquiescent, ignorant masses scarcely notice that the official fairy tale has been routinely flipped this way and that, that way and this.

Even the refugee crisis—the direct result of the Anglo-American empire’s war and regional destabilization—is being manipulated by the CIA into yet another propaganda weapon. According the CIA’s corporate media, the Syrian government (that is under US attack) is to blame. Therefore, “we” must remove the Assad regime even sooner, by sending more of “our” Al-Qaeda “freedom fighters” to destroy what is left. Now, as on 9/11, Orwellian horror abounds.

Key 9/11 mastermind Dick Cheney promised that this war “will not end in our lifetimes”. Indeed it will not. Nor will the presence of 9/11’s most malignant criminals.

Barack Obama dutifully escalated the Bush/Cheney 9/11 agenda. Soon the Bush crime family will take back (or will be handed back) the reins of world criminal power again, under Jeb Bush, who aims to be president of the United States in 2016. Jeb, the “smart one”, has managed key Bush criminal enterprises since the Iran-Contra era.

George W. Bush is now a popular figure. A majority of Americans view him favorably. George H.W. “Poppy” Bush, the CIA godfather and venom-spitting mass murderer, is now viewed by most Americans as a kindly old harmless grandpa. The next generation of Bushes is on the rise, with George P. Bush, a nightmarish Bush scion of politically useful Latin descent, working his way up the ranks of Congress.

Hillary and Bill Clintons, whose association with the Bushes has been long-standing, are also poised for a White House run. Should a Jeb Bush campaign falter, the Clintons will run the war machine seamlessly. What is beyond much doubt is that the next phase of this war, one that will likely involve full-blown superpower conflict between the United States, Russia and China, will be spearheaded by denizens of the same criminal syndicate.

Tragically, everything that many whistleblowers of 9/11 have predicted has come about. It is bitter vindication for everyone who has spoken and written the truth. The world around us speaks for itself, and it is a death scream.

I Get Letters...

I Get Letters...

I’ve gotten some rather interesting emails regarding my article “The Doomsday Falafel”. Some people were furious—how DARE I say that! “Don’t you realize that Islam is out to take over the world??!!” And, my personal favorite, “You’re an idiot!” So, it appears it’s time to shine a bit more light on to a subject I felt was already well-illuminated.
http://josephfreedomoranarchy.blogspot.com/2015/09/muslims-can-change-our-way-of-life.html

First off, if you don’t believe what the government, politicians, and media tell you about other things, why do you then believe them about Muslims? Gee, let’s see…Ah! How about this one? “The Huns are bayoneting babies in Belgium!” Wow, really?! I thought the Huns went extinct as a tribe. No, they dredged that one up to cast the Germans as evil, inhuman monsters capable of infanticide. Why? Because they needed fools to enlist and go fight a European colonial war re-branded to us today as World War One. We were told the Germans were getting ready to take over the world, too. “The War To End All Wars”…ha ha ha!!! This, of course, led directly to the much-acclaimed sequel, World War Two for which propaganda experts received several Oscars and I heard the soundtrack was on the Top Ten for years. They added the Japanese to the already human DNA-challenged Germans in that war. Not to mention carting Japanese AMERICANS off to concentration camps such as Manzanar.

I wonder how they pulled this off in the Civil War? If they said the Confederates were subhumans, well, that’d really come back to bite the Union in the keester because they had relatives down there. It was far easier during the Indian Wars when the original inhabitants of this land were certainly cast as subhumans and forced into vast, open-air concentration camps called “Indian reservations”. That is, when they weren’t just killed out of hand or starved into submission via engineered famines (i.e. killing off the buffalo) that Stalin would’ve purchased the how-to book from. Not to mention the various “Westerns” at the movies that endlessly glorified this genocide for decades. America always wants an enemy just like the enemy that got exterminated by dear old Dad. Thank you, Amurican government, my mother’s people appreciated being civilized in such an obviously civilized way.

So here we are again dehumanizing yet another “enemy” we’re told to hate. Hating the Russians is back in vogue again, too. Remember the Cold War, how the “Russkies” were always portrayed as evil, unthinking robots? That makes it easier to stomach incinerating tens of millions of them with thermonuclear weapons if we needed to in order to defend something called “American interests”. That could be anything from bananas in Central America to coffee in South America. Because we don’t always know whose brother is running the CIA while the other brother runs a fruit import company. Wake up, people. You hate who the government tells you to hate. Because they INVENT the reasons to hate them. It sells foreign policy. It sells wars. It sells movies and books. It sells entertainment and news (same thing).

Excuse me, but we’ve been repeatedly lied into wars with people we were told were “evil” and “not like us”. How many more times does this need to happen before we finally say, “Gee, ya think the government might be LYING to us?” Ok, well, anyone that wants to fight those wars, be my guest. But I’m getting sick of paying for them. So, not only should you guys fight those wars, you need to PAY FOR THEM, too. Yourselves. If militant Islam is a threat, well, I hear tell there’s Kurdish and Assyrian Christian militias desperate for volunteers. There, you want to do something? Look them up. They’re on Facebook.

I’m not going to hate the people this government tells me to. When I look back on history, I see that this government has lied EVERY TIME it has conjured up an enemy. Why? Because that’s how you get parents to accept their children shipped off to fight, get maimed, and die in futile wars overseas that had NOTHING to do with us whatsoever. Not to mention the endless suicides of veterans left with the memories of those wars. What is it, 22 per day commit suicide, they say? See, that’s the thing about hate. It’s like walking through mud. No matter how much you wipe you feet, you track it into your house. I’m not tracking that into my house. I’m going to walk in peace.

What's Wrong With America

What's Wrong With America

We have a president who believes he doesn’t have to follow the Constitution, refuses to enforce the immigration laws, does nothing to secure our southern border, and even wants to grant amnesty to 11 million illegal aliens (probably more like 30 million). Now he has concluded a deal with Iran that will allow them to produce a nuclear weapon sometime in the future. If anyone believes they won’t use it to dominate the Middle East and destroy Israel then it must be hard to breathe with your head in the sand.

We have a former secretary of state who used a private server to conduct the nation’s foreign policies with other nations. Now it comes out that some of the information passed through that server was classified. She is also responsible for lying about what caused the attack on our consulate in Libya. The incompetence shown by the secretary and her underlings were the direct cause of four fine Americans losing their lives. The secretary also lied when she said that she and her husband were broke when they left the White House. She had just signed a book deal for eight millions dollars and I suspect she got an advance from the publisher. Yet she tries to act like one of the people, but most people I know don’t get $200,000 to speak at some gathering. They also don’t own four mansions worth millions of dollars. Even with all of these scandals, there are still people who think she would make a great president. Reference the head in the sand saying in paragraph one.

Our present secretary of state met with North Vietnamese officials in Paris while we were still in armed conflict with their country. He also accused his fellow soldiers of committed atrocities in South Vietnam, which has never been proved. Apparently he did this to get name recognition to further his forthcoming political career. Now he has helped conclude a disaster of a deal with Iran that does nothing to prevent them from getting a nuclear weapon. I am still trying to figure just what the United States got out of this deal. A side deal to the agreement allows Iran to inspect its own military facilities. Talk about letting the fox in the chicken coop. Once again, reference the head in the sand in paragraph one.

We have congressmen and women who sit on their collective behinds and do nothing to stop the lawlessness of this president. They are doing nothing to help the economy grow, put people back to work, secure the border and force Homeland Security to enforce our immigration laws, stop sanctuary cities from not enforcing the law, and reform the bloated federal government. Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid must be put on a sound fiscal footing. Of course, they won’t touch the sacred cow of welfare because the Democrats depend on those votes. The fraud doesn’t matter, the dependency doesn’t matter, able-bodied men and women depending on the government doesn’t matter. Getting elected means more than doing the right thing for the country. What is going to happen when the takers outnumber the makers? That’s easy — borrow more money from China, increase the national debt and raise taxes, which will only hurt those who get up every day and go to work.

The average American has no representation in Congress, this administration, the Justice Department or the Judicial Branch. Unless you are black, Hispanic, gay, lesbian or transgender, there is no one advocating on your behalf. If this statement makes me a racist or a bigot then so be it. A woman in Kentucky is jailed for following her religious beliefs, but Louis Farrakhan can stand up in a church and ask 10,000 of his followers to kill white people and nothing is done about. If a white minister called for his followers to kill black people, he or she would be arrested for making a threat and advocating a hate crime. Why did the Justice Department not prosecute the Black Panthers who tried to intimidate voters in Philadelphia? Why did they do the same thing when the leader of the Black Panthers put a bounty of $10,000 on George Zimmerman’s head? I guess it makes no difference to those in power. The rest of us are just there to pay the taxes for them to waste and our opinions count for nothing. However, when election time rolls around, they will be promising us how they are going to fix the problems if we will just vote for them. Then they laugh and go right back to doing the same old stupid things. Term limits are needed in Congress and the Judicial Branch to include the Supreme Court.

What a sad ending to what was once the greatest nation on earth. A nation where hard work, taking responsibility for your actions and taking care of your family was the framework that made it great. Now people look to the all-powerful state and federal governments to take care of them so they don’t have to worry about being responsible for their actions, taking care of their family or getting a job to contribute to the economy because someone else will pick up the tab. That somebody is the folks who get up every day and go to work to pay the taxes to support them. I have no problem with helping those who can’t work because of a physical limitation, mental limitation or the elderly. Just don’t spend my taxes on those who make no effort to better themselves and live on the sweat of those who work. What a travesty being perpetuated on the American citizens who pay the taxes to support this broken system.

This American is fed up with the lack of addressing the problems the nation faces by our so-called leaders. Most of them are self-centered and care only about their egos, prestige and getting re-elected. No wonder the rating of how they do their jobs is at 9%.

What Can't Happen Here Did

Revolutions happened in other countries — that great slave house of nations, the USSR, their satellite countries in Eastern Europe and Asia, African countries and of course those banana republics somewhere down south. But one thing is for sure, it can’t happen here. Following in the footsteps of giants who have used these prophetic words of Sinclair Lewis, I want to examine how it did happen here.

In the America we inherited from our forefathers, we knew that there could never be a revolution. We had the Constitution with its checks and balances, its separation of powers and its Bill of Rights. These were rock solid, carved in stone and strong enough to preserve the Republic and safeguard the freedom of its people.

Besides, the American people would not stand for some wannabe dictator and his brown, black or whatever color shirt followers marching through the streets and into the White House. The sons of the Pioneers wouldn’t sit still for any attempt to curtail limited government, personal freedom or economic opportunity. No way! No how! Others might accept censorship, surveillance and rigged elections, but not us, not Americans. We had fought wars to defend our independence, wars to defeat totalitarianism; we had even fought wars to spread freedom. No, we wouldn’t quietly allow homegrown tyrants to grasp the levers of power.

It sounds so comforting, “It can’t happen here.” If you take a beginning political science class in either high school or college you will learn how the government works, how bills become laws, how the legislature is made up of the freely elected representatives of the people, how the president runs the executive branch and the Supreme Court sits atop the judicial branch. You will learn about the Declaration of Independence and how the Constitution was written to replace the Articles of Confederation that were too weak to work. Yes, you will learn all about how it’s supposed to work.

In most schools you will also learn that the Constitution is a “living document” that can be re-interpreted to fit every generation and every age. The results of 100 years of re-interpretation have led us to the brink of ruin and me to recommend that the study of the Constitution should be moved from political science to history since what rules us today is legal precedent and bureaucratic regulation. The courts use foreign laws and traditions to interpret our laws and traditions. The legislature passes laws they don’t read, filled with thousands of pages of vague platitudes and goals that the bureaucrats fill in with no oversight and the force of law. And the president does whatever he wants and no one says a thing.

So how did America fall for the second oldest con in the world, “Give me your freedom and I’ll give you security”?

Those who wished to gain power had no ideology or theology that inspired them. They only sought power for power’s sake. They espoused whatever populist themes gave them the broadest support. To bring as many interest groups as possible into their coalition, they embraced an “I’m okay you’re okay” relativity that rejected absolutes and extolled the fringe as the mainstream.

And all the while the decedents of the blacksmiths and farmers, who once congregated on corners to discuss the latest political pamphlet or to debate the merits of economic policy, snoozed on the couch waking up long enough to go to work or watch the game.

The Revolutionaries of the New America first took root in the faculty lounges of academia providing the intellectual and cultural cover for an American movement that promoted the opposite of everything America stood for. From the classrooms of our colleges came the next generations of teachers, journalists, lawyers, artists and politicians. Soon it was common knowledge that our once rock-solid Constitution was a living document to be twisted and changed whenever those in power found the need.

From here it was just a matter of time until a revolution was accomplished through evolutionary change. Once the centers of power were secure in Washington, Hollywood and in the media, the trickle of change became a torrent and the torrent became a tsunami. Two wings on the same bird of prey perpetually re-elected representatives from the twin headed party of power pander to the lowest common denominators, buying votes, using taxes to punish enemies and tax money to reward friends.

Our tyrants-in-training have captured the government and the economy, created a dependent class of motor-voters, convinced people that a continually growing debt is sustainable and turned the government into the one that picks winners and losers instead of a free economy. The slow slide down a slippery slope has accelerated into a precipitous procession over a predictable precipice. To those who have seen this coming it is like watching a slow motion train wreck. The coming destruction is not mitigated in the least by the decades or warning.

Our prideful boast of it can’t happen here has become a heart wrenching analysis of how it did happen here. How did the Progressives capture our land and subvert our Republic? They did it gradually, inch by inch, step by step. When they lost a round they held their gains and as soon as possible recovered their long march toward a fundamentally transformed nation.

How they changed it brings us to the question, “How do we change it back?”

Violent revolt is both repugnant and obviously suicidal to people who understand that once that genie is out of the bottle there is no way to know which way it will go, except that the odds are heavily against it ever landing back in a stable land of limited government and personal freedom. The power of the state is overwhelming. Millions of shot guns, pistols and even those terrible assault rifles we are constantly being lectured about would make no headway against Abrams tanks and F-18s.

There are only two ways to have a successful, peaceful revolution. One: The vast majority of the people must go on strike and refuse to operate as a society until the changes have been made. Or two: It must happen gradually, line upon line, verse upon verse, always keeping the goal in sight and moving forward at every opportunity. In other words, we must do to the new establishment what they did to the old: not overthrow it. Supplant it and replace it in the hearts and minds of the people.

We can rest assured that all people at all times eventually yearn for freedom, thus the stage is set by the very nature of man that God imprinted on us in His creation. Free choice is the natural state of man and in the end we will return to it. This pall of totalitarianism that is falling like a shadow across the land will one day awake to find the light of liberty cannot be quenched forever.

What should we do? Education is the key. If you are not a teacher, become one. Learn to show yourself approved. Teach anyone who will listen of freedom, of the true history of the American experiment. Become involved in any way you can to retake control of our education system so that we can train the coming generations to love freedom, truth, justice and the American way.

And don’t lose hope. God created us to be free, and though tyrants always seek to ensnare people in their self-serving systems we will one day be free again. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Remember what we thought couldn’t happen here did, and what they think can’t happen to them will. Freedom will rise from the ashes, and one day the light of liberty will once again burn brightly in America the beautiful.

Thank You For Your Service, Huh, Yeah, Right...

Thank You For Your Service, Huh, Yeah, Right...

You know, I’ll tell you a secret. I used to be very depressed over the whole state of affairs in this country. Then one day, it came to me that it’s all just a grand illusion. None of it is actual reality. Therefore, one should laugh at it and also laugh at the clowns taking this all seriously. As if voting in Flookey McPheerson is going to actually make a bit of difference in the grand scheme of things. Once we have President McPheerson, he will start wars, of course. And real people will die in them. Lots of people will die in them. Why? Because they enlisted believing in the illusion. That it was REAL and America was a real place governed by laws, concerned with righteousness and justice. Huh. I made that mistake once and got assigned to the purgatory of the 101st Airborne for my sins.

People say, “Thank you for your service…” but won’t make good on that because I don’t eat the correct trendy mountainous shrubs, drink coffee made with exotic-cat defecated beans, and ride the coolest bicycle made from alloys pioneered by the United States government. Thank me for my service…hmmm…I’d rather have that time back and I’ll give them back the awards sitting in a box full of other useless junk. If I can find the box under boxes of other forgotten crap I’ve also forgotten to take the plunge and throw away. People now think dogtags are cool. They’ve become jewelry they sell at the mall! Hey people, those were issued to identify the body! Or what might be left of it, if anything! Hel-LO!!! That’s why you had to list religion on them, so they knew whose prayers went with what dead body so they could match them up. The army is all about things matching. Especially funding from the Department of Defense matching their imperial ambitions which they won’t admit to on this side of the Rubicon, er, Potomac. Yes, and they’re made of a very high grade of stainless steel. I wish I could find kitchen cutlery made of that steel. Then they wouldn’t stain the sink. But the dogtag needs to not corrode during decomposition, see. That’s a world of difference from onion juice. Amazing things, and now they’ve become fad jewelry. It’s the same as wearing a coroner’s toe tag, you dolts!!!

If people really knew that a day of walking in your garden in quiet contemplation would do more for you than a year in the service of this regime, nobody would enlist. From time to time, I run across people who think these were the best days of their lives. I feel sorry for them. I learned a lot, but not what the army taught me. (Though what they taught me several years and a lot of meditation to unlearn.) The army knows this because several anti-war folks have sprung from the loins of the military. So they’d always search the barracks and made notes of who was reading what. I left anti-war books for them to find, getting into the spirit of the Cold War we were willing to lose men in horrifying training accidents to show the Russkies whose choppers crash better. What? You wanted a safe helicopter to fly in?! What, you think this is Air Force One?! Get on there, soldier! They asked, “Where did you get these books?” From the post library on the base here. “What?! We better check that out. Library procurement will have a lot to answer for!” They never asked if I read them so I never volunteered that information. Never volunteer—lesson numero uno in the army. You already made that epic mistake and that’s why you’re there in the first place repeating the mantra of, “If only, If only, If only…” Yes, if only you’d hung up the phone when the recruiter called. The recruiter invites you to lunch at some fast-food burger joint, or they did back in the day. Yeah, the free lunch that costs you a fortune. It’s like volunteering to be meshuggeneh, I tell you. No, wait, it IS volunteering to be meshuggeneh. Trust me on that one.

It took a lot of time and travel to start erasing the vestigial tail issued by the United States Army. The throwback gene to our reptilian ancestors, if that be true. If not, the army deems it to be true and plans accordingly. “Tail, Reptile-Type, One Each! Place it into your duffel bags and hold up your hand assembly group! Come on, hurry up, get your heads out of your duffelbags!” So, what goes in the duffelbag, the tail or the head or both? Ah! This is the United States Army! The head goes elsewhere! Feh! I wouldn’t take a million dollars for the experience, but I wouldn’t pay a nickel for it, either. Wait, I’d rather have the million dollars. I’ve paid far, far more than a nickel thanks to the army.

Look, kids, the United States government spends a lot of money to convince you that the military is a swell place. Hey, after basic training and AIT, it’s just like a 9 to 5 job! There’s college money, maybe bonus money! How did they do this back in the day? “I Want YOU To Be A Mamluk!” You go in there and you think you’re being such a great patriot. A True Believer. Everyone’s in awe, they put your picture in the paper and all that. Yeah, well, the obituaries put peoples’ pictures in the paper, too. You don’t see people clamoring for that publicity. Read how they did it in the First World War, a war so great they called it the Great War at first and so great it spawned a sequel just a couple decades later. They got everyone hopped up on patriotism which, if it were a controlled substance, would be right up there with heroin and cocaine. The reality? Human wave assaults against machine guns. Millions of dead. Skeletons are still turning up after heavy rains. The first use of chemical weapons. Gee, the bug spray works so well against the ants in the house, maybe we should try it on soldiers! And they did. This show must go on! It has passed into being a mini-series! They have to keep bringing in new characters as the original ones get killed off. That’s where you come in, kid.

So it must all be laughed at. This great time I’m told I had, to be proud of my country and my veteran status. Proud? Of what? Having been an accomplice of this racket? Where’s that nickel? I’ll trade it for that million dollars and mail my awards to the Pentagon with instructions on where they can stash them.

Muslims Can ‘Change Our Way of Life’?

Muslims Can ‘Change Our Way of Life’?

The Doomsday Falafel

Ay, ay, ya, Ben Carson…what are we gonna do with ya? Hopefully, not elect you as President of the United States. Have a look at this kernel of wisdom from good ol’ Ben Carson: “There is such a thing as an American dream and the American way. Anybody is welcome to come to America, but they don’t get to change who we are.” I nearly fell off my chair laughing at this one. So, hey Ben, does this mean everyone here better be eating corn, beans, and squash? Because that’s what everyone here was eating before the people called “Amuuricuns” manifested here.

And just who are we anyways, Ben? Hmmm? To me, pretty much a rather growing collection of easily-manipulated slaves assimilated into a monoculture of mediocrity and serial fads. Excuse me, but can anyone tell me when the Islamic Army arrives to forcibly change our way of life and ban pork rinds, dime beer night at Slookey’s, and television shows that would embarrass a cat in heat? Can anyone really see Muslims taking over America, I ask you? My word, nowadays, people can’t wait for the weekend and the drinking begins on Thursday nights here in Arizona bars. Right, and they’re going to convert these people to Islam, a religion that forbids alcohol consumption? Not even “dry counties” in America could pull that off! Remember Prohibition anyone? Yeah, Muslims will change our way of life, sure Ben, uh-huh. You must be smoking thick-sliced bacon if you think that’s going to happen.

Exactly what is the “American way” now? Kill them all and let God sort them out? Bomb them back to the Stone Age? Oh, wait, the people that say that don’t believe in the Stone Age. I asked someone on the street, “Excuse me, but can you tell me what the American way is?” He said, “Well, you have to go three miles down Broadway from here, and then it’s the street there with the Taco Hut on the corner. I think…” Wow, who knew the American way was so close to hand! Why, the American Dream that Ben mentioned must be right around the corner from there! I predict that will be the epicenter of the Muslim invasion to capture mom, apple pie, and blue jeans. We should probably station a jukebox there to play patriotic country songs inspiring us to die in foreign wars that enrich the patriots whose kids remain safely ensconced in Fortress Amurica.

I’m starting to think Ben’s on to something here. We’ve got to rid ourselves of these foreign influences before it’s too late. I mean, look at this! My gosh, now you can get a pizza delivered to your house! What’s next?! Falafel and lamb biryani?! How come we haven’t got an apple pie delivery?! We can’t deliver mom, people might talk. This must stop! We need to get rid of ethnic food as a whole and return back to the meatloaf and mashed potatoes that made Amurica great! Our forefather cry out from the grave for us to cleanse Amurica from All-You-Can-Eat Sushi!!! People, the Japanese were once an enemy! How dare we forget that and eat raw fish with rice! Men died for fried chicken, not sashimi! Get it right! The pizza was the Trojan Horse that started it all!

Yes, Ben is inspiring great acts of Amurican patriotism like hating an entire religion and everyone from the region that gave us such un-Amurican things as wheat cultivation and bread. They’re not really welcome in Ben’s vision of America, but Ben can’t say that without looking like a bigot. Let me just clue you in on something, Ben. There are about two billion Muslims on this planet. Now, if every one of them was like you say they are, we’d be in a world war of epic proportions. See, Ben, there’s a difference between people practicing a faith and fanatics. Kind of like there’s a difference between Americans and people practicing a form of political fanaticism that usually manifests itself in cloaked diatribes against people who “aren’t like us”. Yeah, well, there’s a lot of people here Amuricans of other eras said things about, Ben. Join the club. Status THIS quo.

I better run out and get a falafel before some Republican gets elected and makes it a felony. Then I’ll be stuck with fried chicken and apple pie. Never mind that apples originate from Kazakhstan and not America. If they wanted a fruit pie with an indigenous fruit, they’ll have to go rustle up some chokecherries. But, when you don’t have a campaign beyond “Hate, hate, hate, and load the bombers…” this is what we’re left with.

There we have it. We’re under attack, Amurica. Is there a Doomsday Falafel in your future? Ben Carson seems to think so. I’ll have a side of hummus with mine, thanks.

Freedom isn't Free, But is it on Sale Yet?

Freedom isn't Free, But is it on Sale Yet?

So, continuing on with skewering America’s Funniest Homeland Phrases, let’s examine this old warhorse, if you’ll pardon the pun: “Freedom isn’t free”. Wow, snappy, huh? I wonder how many post-it notes and crayons they went through scribbling that one, what with all the rough drafts and all? Hmmm…so freedom isn’t free? Then what is it, exactly? A pay-as-you-go plan? A rent-to-own thing? Ah! No, I’ve got it! It’s a payday loan! I knew I’d figure it out!

Yes, yes, I know what they mean. This one is always trotted out when the U.S. is discussing yet another episode of mass slaughter in the vast charnel house they call the Pentagon. I read the phrase just yesterday in a “letter to the editor” on the opinion page of the local paper. Freedom isn’t free, you guys! That’s why we need to attack Iran! That’s why we need to attack, uh, well, those people over there with unusual and exotic headwear! Those people eat flatbread! We need to defend mom, pick-up trucks, lame country songs, and apple pie! What if apple pie isn’t Halal?! Indeed, there is a lot to defend. I heard one of the aforementioned lame country songs extolling the virtues of the “men who died” so we could enjoy fried chicken, blue jeans that fit appropriately, and cold alcoholic beverages. Almost makes me shed a tear at the deli counter of the supermarket when I’m buying hot wings.

Freedom isn’t free, huh? Wow, who knew? Say, do they still have that old double coupon thing going on? You know, maybe for every soldier we lose in another insane war, we can get credit for having lost two of them. “We won the war, Amereeka!!” No, you didn’t! It’s Tuesday! Double Coupon Day! We get credit for two decisive battles, not one! I still can’t find the payment kiosk downtown to make my Freedom Payment. They mailed me a Five Day Notice. Actually, I’m looking for the receipt. I’d like to take it back for a refund of my tax dollars. I think I can find freedom at a lower price somewhere else.

But, look, you know what it reminds me of? Hey, remember the Carthaginians? Yeah, that was way, way back, before the Nixon days, too. Anyway, Carthage and many other ancient governments in the region had this child sacrifice thing going on. They required everyone to pony up their first-born infant to the cult of whatever iteration of the god that demanded this “freedom isn’t free” payment plan. Usually someone like Baal, Chemosh, or Molech, the heavy-hitters of the regional idols. It’s American Idol! The priesthood, who was in cahoots with the government, told the people if they didn’t offer up their kids to this false god, all kinds of calamities would befall them. Including losing crucial wars! Hmmm…the more things change, the more they stay the same, huh? Right, and the warvangelicals as much as they claim to be against idolatry have been snookered by one of the oldest rites of it: The child sacrifice cult.

Oh, come on now, Jack! You’re been smoking Freedom fries again! No, hear me out here. We are told that in order to assure our alleged freedom, we must send our children off to die in whatever war the government deems necessary to accomplish that. Even when it is obvious to all but a few people residing as hermits that these wars have absolutely nothing to do with freedom or self-defense whatsoever. Therefore, it becomes obvious this is a child sacrifice cult. The sacrifice of one’s offspring guarantees freedom, mom, apple pie, tight-fitting denim pants, and deep-fried poultry. This is what we are told! See this for what this is! People are sacrificed to the false idols you see elected that tell you this very thing. “So…why are we sending troops over to Forgottenstan again? They haven’t got an air force or navy and their society is somewhere in the tenth century.” “You TRAITOR! Because freedom isn’t free!!!” End result? Same as Carthage: Dead kids.

At least Carthage didn’t gussy it up in nonsense, though. But, yeah, this whole “freedom isn’t free”, I’m not buying it. Again, pardon the pun. Seems to me this is the ultimate loan shark operation. It never, ever, gets paid off. “Sooo…where are we at on the freedom payments, hon?” “What?! I thought we had that paid off in 1945!?” “Nooo…this bill just came in the mail. Says we still owe.” “This is ridiculous! How did we get fooled into buying this anyway?! Payments for Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now they’re saying we might have to do Iran, too?! We can’t afford this! My gosh, just look at the interest they’re charging us!”

Man, why didn’t I think of this? I could have gone door-to-door with this shtick, selling Freedom Permits that allow you to eat apple pie and fried chicken and wear blue jeans. “Bartender, I’ll take a cold beer!” “Can I see your Freedom Permit? And not a fake one, either…” It’d be too hard to sell, though. People would ask what this Freedom Permit costs and when you told them the price was their kids coming home in a flag-draped casket, they’d give you the high hat, for sure. But let the government suggest it, they’ll all but sign up their kids their own selves. In fact, if parents had the ability to enlist their kids into the military, it’d look like a 3am Black Friday line outside the Big Box store with the only electronic games in town.

So, here we go again, folks. Freedom isn’t free. Of course, one notices the children of Senators and Congressmen (not to mention Presidents) somehow get the bargain rates on that. They must get their freedom from the 99 Cents stores. I looked there and couldn’t find any freedom. But I found some great sandals! Ah, well, those sandals will carry me further than this government will, I’ll say that for them. Say, who’s got the Freedom fries? I just got some fried chicken the United States lost an entire infantry division to secure.

They Added a Soundtrack and Called it Peace

American Tuff Guys
They Added a Soundtrack and Called it Peace

In this vast shopping mall we call planet Earth, you will find one of the largest “anchor stores” of the whole complex is good ol’ American State Global Improvement Center. From it’s humble beginning as a small hardware store, it has become the world’s largest purveyor of global remodeling products and services with outlet stores in well over 150 countries. American State has a new product out now; a re-launched line of tools.  Ok, go into the store and you have to pass by the Regime Change Nation Building Materials section. Make a left past the sandbags and go over to the Tools of the State section. Yeah, that’s where you’ll find the American Tuff Guy. This is a very effective Tool of the State, since it loosens nuts everywhere and before you know it, all those nuts are loose and in the palm of the State.

Now, the American Tuff Guy is quite a phenomenon. This tool first showed up in the 1980s, during the infamous Reagan Era, when militarism was made all shiny and new again and given an award-winning soundtrack that won Grammys. You see, the nuts could not come loose for Reagan. They had been rusted solid because of the tears of widows and mothers from the Vietnam War, and the blood of some one to two million people we killed over there. This presented a problem. How could we turn the nuts loose again? Well, the State noticed the American Tuff Guy chanting “USA, USA, USA!!” at TV wrestling matches and said, “Aha! We need a few spritzes of AV-45 (American Victory 1945 formula, which helps loosen the rust holding the nuts) on these nuts!” The chant of “USA, USA, USA” eventually became an unwholesome, distasteful cultural meme and the American Tuff Guy went to Hollywood and made many a movie to break free the nuts.

And how! We were told we could have won the Vietnam War if we’d have just killed another couple million people. In fact, the fault was a State not ruthless enough to kill people on an even grander scale than a couple million. That State wouldn’t “let” the military win that war. Going into the future, we need a State that is willing to kill people in the tens of millions if we need to do so in order to “win”. In “Red Dawn”, we were shown how a Soviet army invading America could be defeated with high school kids, a couple deer rifles, a football, breakfast cereal, and urinating into a radiator. Which was also the arcane magical formula to resurrect the cadaver of militarism. People in the audience chanted “USA, USA, USA!!” not realizing that was the incantation needed to fully reanimate the corpse. It was demonstrated how the incompetent pilots of Middle Eastern air forces could be shot down like ducks in a pond, with a great soundtrack, thus making the possibility of a war becoming the world’s biggest music video a reality.

At last, wars we could dance to! Goose-stepping is soooo out now! Everyone knows the American State juggernaut of the future will dance and have an award-winning soundtrack. It’ll have its own reality TV show. Eventually, it will create an image of itself on the television as the ultimate celebrity, to be virtually worshipped. Soon, it will manifest itself as a god, though it’ll call itself something else on television. In this incarnation, it will claim to deliver peace, security, prosperity, safety, and freedom, all the while delivering the exact opposite. But the image will require the falsehoods to be believed as truth and, indeed, plenty will bow down to the image. The image will be more popular than the reality, because the image will appear beautiful and chic. The image will say freedom comes from it alone, prosperity comes from it alone, safety and security comes from it alone. Thus, the image will require obeisance of the masses, in adoration of its many “gifts”. The image will call it “patriotism” but what it will be is worship. Not possible? Huh. It’s already begun. Thanks to the American Tuff Guy, who loosened the nuts.

The American Tuff Guy has been the best Tool of the State ever since the 1980s. The American Tuff Guy has never been in the military, but he’s the host of conservative talk shows cheering on wars. The American Tuff Guy is calling for attacking Russia and Iran, even though he himself has never actually served in the military. Oh, we wanted to, he says. But, you know, college, parties and all that, you know how it is. Things came up. But he demonstrates his martial prowess on the internet and hosting talk radio and TV shows. He’s so tough, he’s bitten the heads off of animal crackers and has even eaten an MRE once. He’s loosening the nuts all over America, because that’s his function as the State’s tool. So when the State unveils it’s new “global improvement project”, all these nuts will be ready to go. Nobody will ever bother to look at the American Tuff Guy and say, “Hey, wait a minute! Aren’t you a Tool of the State? Isn’t that your function, loosening up all these nuts? Just look at these nuts you’ve loosened! Some of them are running for president!”

The American Tuff Guy is hard at work right now, cheering on the 173rd Airborne training Ukrainian troops over there. “USA, USA, USA!!!” Hey, Tuff Guy, they’re in Ukraine. What has that got to do with the “USA”? Nothing, except the wasted American tax dollars. The American Tuff Guy sees Russia sell defensive missiles to Iran and says, “Look how they disrespect the USA! We need to teach them they can’t do that! USA, USA, USA!!!” Hey, Tuff Guy, you want to give weapons to Ukraine, Russia’s hostile neighbour, so what’s the dif? And all this whole nauseating “Go USA!” and mindless chanting of “USA, USA, USA!!” as if this is all a TV wrestling match on one of the “off channels”. Indeed, when I hear all this patriotic claptrap, I am awaiting a commercial break for some type of vegetable slicer. “Tired of onions making you cry when you slice them? Tired of never being able to get those perfect slices of eggplant? Tired of peeling carrots? Tired of those pesky governments of other countries that think they can do whatever they want to without permission from the American State? Well, the time has come for Regime-O-Matic, the American State that topples governments, gets rid of world leaders, arms unstable dictators and despots, and creates picture-perfect eggplant slices every time!”

One technique the American Tuff Guy loosens the most nuts with is using the old “cheater bar” of saying, “We have to fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here.” Now, we heard this about Iraq in 2003. Now we’re hearing this about Ukraine in regards to Russia. Um, when exactly did Vladimir Putin say invading the United States was even a passing interest of his? Oh, wait! I get it! We’re back to the whole “Red Dawn” scare tactic that started all this crap back in the 1980s! Wow, American Tuff Guy, you sure do know how to loosen the nuts over here. Right, because if we don’t “stop the Russians” in Ukraine (where they aren’t in the first place), the next thing you know, we’ll have Russian troops landing in Malibu. Because that’s how it works. You always have to secure Ukraine before a major amphibious assault at Malibu Beach.

Right, so here we are once again with the American Tuff Guy loosening the nuts across America. We’re hearing, “Obama pulled out of Iraq and that’s why we basically lost that war!” Yes, just like we’d have won the Vietnam War if only we’d killed another couple million people. See how this endless propaganda for State militarism is passed around by people? The old call for the State to stop being so mamby-pamby and start producing kill ratios we can be proud of! The American Tuff Guy wants a reality TV show we can be proud of, like “Desperate Body Counts”. They can announce how many people the State killed all over the world and the American Tuff Guy can spill his bowl of corn chips shouting, “USA, USA, USA!!!”

So what do the nuts do once they’re loose? Well, they vote, of course. For the one likely to kill the most people and thus give the U.S. a winning score on Desperate Body Counts. They show up at political rallies, along with American Tuff Guy, chanting “USA, USA, USA!!!” every time the speaker swoons with delight over the prospect of killing millions of innocent people. They actually run for political office, promising to use that political office to engage in the legal mass murder of millions by the State called “foreign policy”—and then rejoice after actually having done so. They appear on talk shows, wiping the foam from their lips as they call out for the slaughter of millions of human beings. Just to teach one man in that country, their leader, some so-called “respect” for the “USA” when even he had done nothing wrong to begin with.

And with all this senseless death and destruction, the chant of “USA, USA, USA!!!” can be heard in the background from American Tuff Guy and all those loose nuts. The unholy abomination of the American State, about to manifest into something even worse, is drunk with power and blood. The praise and worship directed towards it, is giving life to the image we have yet to see. “They made a wasteland and called it peace”, Tacitus told us. No. It’s different these days. They added a soundtrack and called it “entertainment”.

Mass Murderers we've Known and Voted For

Mass Murderers we've Known and Voted For

After every rash of mass murders in the U.S., we have the usual call of “How do we keep guns out of the hands of crazy people?!” Indeed, but let us examine this phenomenon in greater detail, shall we?

The way it happens is as follows: Jimmy Wheedle undergoes some type of paranoiac delusion or hallucination, and imagines innocent people to be plotting against him. Therefore, he obtains a firearm, goes to some public place the “voices” are telling him these “culprits” are, and opens fire. If Jimmy is captured alive (on rare occasions) the police will report that he was “mentally ill”. This explains it all and everyone goes away knowing this.

But humor me a moment and entertain this scenario: A candidate for President of the United States undergoes some type of paranoiac delusion or hallucination, and imagines innocent people to be plotting against the United States. Once elected, he obtains a military. Having done so, he goes to the country the “voices” (intelligence agencies, the Pentagon, PNAC, etc.) are telling him these “culprits” are, and starts a war. If the President is questioned before Congress at all (on rare occasions), the entire government will report that the President acted on “credible intelligence”. This explains it all and everyone goes away knowing this.

However, what we see here is that the paranoiac delusions and hallucinations were justified and not seen as crazy. In other words, the entire government acted upon the same premise a mass murderer uses in his actions, but claims it’s not “crazy” and calls it, rather, “credible intelligence” I will leave you, dear readers, to pinpoint the irony in that. Let me say this, though. A mass murderer with a gun can kill about thirty people before police arrive and thwart his plan, whatever it was. A President with a military can kill thirty people per second, and this can go on for over a decade without end, and no one will thwart that plan, whatever it originally was and then mutated into later. In fact, incredibly, that plan can be handed down to a successor President and the plan continues on! This is astonishing to contemplate! Think about a scenario where a mass murderer opens fire, kills thirty people, and then another mass murderer arrives and takes over the crime killing even more people. You see, there’s a lot of talk about keeping guns out of the hands of “crazy” people. But, when will we hear sane voices calling for keeping bigger guns out of the hands of our crazy Presidents?!

Now, entertain this scene for a moment: Bill Smith has a neighbor he hates named Barry Hanes. He wants Barry Hanes to move out of the neighborhood. So he enlists the aid of a local street gang to go over and harass Barry and vandalize his house. Unfortunately, the street gang gets a bit too enthusiastic and vandalizes the neighboring houses next to Barry. The police arrive and discover the plot Bill Smith hatched, having caught one of the gang members. Bill Smith is arrested for several felonies.

But what about this: The President of the United States hates the guy running Syria, Bashar al-Assad. He wants Assad to step down and go away. So he enlists the aid of armed thugs and terrorists to go over and fight against Assad’s forces. Unfortunately, this group gets a bit too enthusiastic and begins attacking Iraq and other countries. The world wonders what to do about this group, now calling itself ISIS. But far from being held accountable, the President tells us the solution is to arm and train more terrorists to fight the terrorists we trained and armed. More ominous is the possibility that ISIS might, in fact, be still under the control of CIA forces burrowed deep into the government and accountable to no one. Thus, they are unstoppable and virtually invincible. This would explain why about a year’s worth of airstrikes has not weakened ISIS. In fact, they have grown stronger. If someone was within, they would be able to warn ISIS of impending airstrikes. In addition to supplying them and protecting them more than just warning them of airstrikes.

Who says this government unto the world it is righteous? In fact, this government fits the profile of a mass murderer and a neighborhood thug. The current presidential candidates seek to involve us in more mass murders and to that, we shall examine this fact even more. Examine this tale: Inspired by the mass murder event of Jimmy Wheedle, a copycat named Huck Walker has a paranoiac delusion that his neighbor, Sam Teagle, is plotting against him. Huck sees that the murders of Jimmy were the solution to this problem and so envisions a plan to carry out this solution himself against his imagined enemy. Now Huck has been writing to Jimmy who is in prison and through subtle messages, Jimmy confirms to Huck that he is right. Therefore, Huck acquires a firearm and bursts into Sam Teagle’s home and kills him. But more than that, Sam’s entire family of eight is also murdered since they were considered “accomplices” by Huck. The police arrive and catch Huck, far too late. The police report Huck is “mentally ill” and this explains everything and people wonder how things like this continue to happen, again and again.

Investigate this story: Some Presidential candidates say Iran is building a nuclear weapon and needs to be bombed. This, of course, is exactly the same as was said of Iraq and we know Iraq had no such program, hundreds of thousands of dead later. But people from within the former Bush Administration are coaching these candidates from behind the scenes and messages pass back and forth between them. Even if a pact is signed with Iran, these candidates say they will not honor it, thus saying the word of the United States is not good. Which we already knew, but I digress. Assuming one of these candidates becomes President and obtains a military, what will he, therefore, do? He will bomb Iran, resulting in the deaths of not only the personnel and installations targeted, but also thousands of innocent people who happen to live there also. Of course, later it will be learned Iran had no such nuclear weapons program. It will be said the President acted on “credible intelligence” and this will explain everything. People will wonder how things like this continue to happen, again and again.

It’s easy to point to some shmoe on the street and say, “That guy is crazy!” But how about we start pointing those fingers where they belong—to our allegedly elected leaders! Excuse me, but some “crazy” guy on the street cannot obtain control over roughly 2,600 nuclear weapons and the authority to use them! That “crazy” guy can’t deploy aircraft carriers and kill people all over the planet without so much as a by-your-leave from the American people. I agree, we need to keep guns out of the hands of crazy people. And we need to start with our Presidents, Senators, Congress, CIA, NSA, DHS, JSOC, SOCOM, and all the other letters in the alphabet soup of tyrants. Yeah, crazy people. Tell us all about them, Mr. President. Takes one to know one, they say.

Pope Francis' Full Address to the UN General Assembly

Pope Francis said there is a "right of the environment" and that mankind didn't have the authority to abuse it.

Pope Francis' Full Address to the UN General Assembly
Video and Transcript

Pope Francis’ address to the United Nations on Friday as prepared for delivery and translated by the Vatican:

Mr President,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank you for your kind words. Once again, following a tradition by which I feel honored, the Secretary General of the United Nations has invited the Pope to address this distinguished assembly of nations. In my own name, and that of the entire Catholic community, I wish to express to you, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, my heartfelt gratitude.

I greet the Heads of State and Heads of Government present, as well as the ambassadors, diplomats and political and technical officials accompanying them, the personnel of the United Nations engaged in this 70th Session of the General Assembly, the personnel of the various programs and agencies of the United Nations family, and all those who, in one way or another, take part in this meeting. Through you, I also greet the citizens of all the nations represented in this hall. I thank you, each and all, for your efforts in the service of mankind.

This is the fifth time that a Pope has visited the United Nations. I follow in the footsteps of my predecessors Paul VI, in1965, John Paul II, in 1979 and 1995, and my most recent predecessor, now Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, in 2008. All of them expressed their great esteem for the Organization, which they considered the appropriate juridical and political response to this present moment of history, marked by our technical ability to overcome distances and frontiers and, apparently, to overcome all natural limits to the exercise of power. An essential response, inasmuch as technological power, in the hands of nationalistic or falsely universalist ideologies, is capable of perpetrating tremendous atrocities. I can only reiterate the appreciation expressed by my predecessors, in reaffirming the importance which the Catholic Church attaches to this Institution and the hope which she places in its activities.

The United Nations is presently celebrating its 70th anniversary. The history of this organized community of states is one of important common achievements over a period of unusually fast-paced changes. Without claiming to be exhaustive, we can mention the codification and development of international law, the establishment of international norms regarding human rights, advances in humanitarian law, the resolution of numerous conflicts, operations of peace-keeping and reconciliation, and any number of other accomplishments in every area of international activity and endeavor. All these achievements are lights which help to dispel the darkness of the disorder caused by unrestrained ambitions and collective forms of selfishness. Certainly, many grave problems remain to be resolved, yet it is clear that, without all those interventions on the international level, mankind would not have been able to survive the unchecked use of its own possibilities. Every one of these political, juridical and technical advances is a path towards attaining the ideal of human fraternity and a means for its greater realization.
For this reason I pay homage to all those men and women whose loyalty and self-sacrifice have benefitted humanity as a whole in these past seventy years. In particular, I would recall today those who gave their lives for peace and reconciliation among peoples, from Dag Hammarskjöld to the many United Nations officials at every level who have been killed in the course of humanitarian missions, and missions of peace and reconciliation.

Beyond these achievements, the experience of the past 70 years has made it clear that reform and adaptation to the times is always necessary in the pursuit of the ultimate goal of granting all countries, without exception, a share in, and a genuine and equitable influence on, decision-making processes. The need for greater equity is especially true in the case of those bodies with effective executive capability, such as the Security Council, the Financial Agencies and the groups or mechanisms specifically created to deal with economic crises. This will help limit every kind of abuse or usury, especially where developing countries are concerned. The International Financial Agencies are should care for the sustainable development of countries and should ensure that they are not subjected to oppressive lending systems which, far from promoting progress, subject people to mechanisms which generate greater poverty, exclusion and dependence.

The work of the United Nations, according to the principles set forth in the Preamble and the first Articles of its founding Charter, can be seen as the development and promotion of the rule of law, based on the realization that justice is an essential condition for achieving the ideal of universal fraternity. In this context, it is helpful to recall that the limitation of power is an idea implicit in the concept of law itself. To give to each his own, to cite the classic definition of justice, means that no human individual or group can consider itself absolute, permitted to bypass the dignity and the rights of other individuals or their social groupings.

The effective distribution of power (political, economic, defense-related, technological, etc.) among a plurality of subjects, and the creation of a juridical system for regulating claims and interests, are one concrete way of limiting power. Yet today’s world presents us with many false rights and – at the same time – broad sectors which are vulnerable, victims of power badly exercised: for example, the natural environment and the vast ranks of the excluded. These sectors are closely interconnected and made increasingly fragile by dominant political and economic relationships.

That is why their rights must be forcefully affirmed, by working to protect the environment and by putting an end to exclusion.

First, it must be stated that a true “right of the environment” does exist, for two reasons. First, because we human beings are part of the environment. We live in communion with it, since the environment itself entails ethical limits which human activity must acknowledge and respect. Man, for all his remarkable gifts, which “are signs of a uniqueness which transcends the spheres of physics and biology” (Laudato Si’, 81), is at the same time a part of these spheres. He possesses a body shaped by physical, chemical and biological elements, and can only survive and develop if the ecological environment is favorable. Any harm done to the environment, therefore, is harm done to humanity.
Second, because every creature, particularly a living creature, has an intrinsic value, in its existence, its life, its beauty and its interdependence with other creatures. We Christians, together with the other monotheistic religions, believe that the universe is the fruit of a loving decision by the Creator, who permits man respectfully to use creation for the good of his fellow men and for the glory of the Creator; he is not authorized to abuse it, much less to destroy it. In all religions, the environment is a fundamental good (cf. ibid.).

The misuse and destruction of the environment are also accompanied by a relentless process of exclusion. In effect, a selfish and boundless thirst for power and material prosperity leads both to the misuse of available natural resources and to the exclusion of the weak and disadvantaged, either because they are differently abled (handicapped), or because they lack adequate information and technical expertise, or are incapable of decisive political action. Economic and social exclusion is a complete denial of human fraternity and a grave offense against human rights and the environment. The poorest are those who suffer most from such offenses, for three serious reasons: they are cast off by society, forced to live off what is discarded and suffer unjustly from the abuse of the environment. They are part of today’s widespread and quietly growing “culture of waste”.

The dramatic reality this whole situation of exclusion and inequality, with its evident effects, has led me, in union with the entire Christian people and many others, to take stock of my grave responsibility in this regard and to speak out, together with all those who are seeking urgently-needed and effective solutions. The adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the World Summit, which opens today, is an important sign of hope. I am similarly confident that the Paris Conference on Climatic Change will secure fundamental and effective agreements.

Solemn commitments, however, are not enough, even though they are a necessary step toward solutions. The classic definition of justice which I mentioned earlier contains as one of its essential elements a constant and perpetual will: Iustitia est constans et perpetua voluntas ius sum cuique tribuendi. Our world demands of all government leaders a will which is effective, practical and constant, concrete steps and immediate measures for preserving and improving the natural environment and thus putting an end as quickly as possible to the phenomenon of social and economic exclusion, with its baneful consequences: human trafficking, the marketing of human organs and tissues, the sexual exploitation of boys and girls, slave labor, including prostitution, the drug and weapons trade, terrorism and international organized crime. Such is the magnitude of these situations and their toll in innocent lives, that we must avoid every temptation to fall into a declarationist nominalism which would assuage our consciences. We need to ensure that our institutions are truly effective in the struggle against all these scourges.

The number and complexity of the problems require that we possess technical instruments of verification. But this involves two risks. We can rest content with the bureaucratic exercise of drawing up long lists of good proposals – goals, objectives and statistical indicators – or we can think that a single theoretical and aprioristic solution will provide an answer to all the challenges. It must never be forgotten that political and economic activity is only effective when it is understood as a prudential activity, guided by a perennial concept of justice and constantly conscious of the fact that, above and beyond our plans and programs, we are dealing with real men and women who live, struggle and suffer, and are often forced to live in great poverty, deprived of all rights.

To enable these real men and women to escape from extreme poverty, we must allow them to be dignified agents of their own destiny. Integral human development and the full exercise of human dignity cannot be imposed. They must be built up and allowed to unfold for each individual, for every family, in communion with others, and in a right relationship with all those areas in which human social life develops – friends, communities, towns and cities, schools, businesses and unions, provinces, nations, etc. This presupposes and requires the right to education – also for girls (excluded in certain places) – which is ensured first and foremost by respecting and reinforcing the primary right of the family to educate its children, as well as the right of churches and social groups to support and assist families in the education of their children. Education conceived in this way is the basis for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and for reclaiming the environment.

At the same time, government leaders must do everything possible to ensure that all can have the minimum spiritual and material means needed to live in dignity and to create and support a family, which is the primary cell of any social development. In practical terms, this absolute minimum has three names: lodging, labor, and land; and one spiritual name: spiritual freedom, which includes religious freedom, the right to education and other civil rights.

For all this, the simplest and best measure and indicator of the implementation of the new agenda for development will be effective, practical and immediate access, on the part of all, to essential material and spiritual goods: housing, dignified and properly remunerated employment, adequate food and drinking water; religious freedom and, more generally, spiritual freedom and education. These pillars of integral human development have a common foundation, which is the right to life and, more generally, what we could call the right to existence of human nature itself.

The ecological crisis, and the large-scale destruction of biodiversity, can threaten the very existence of the human species. The baneful consequences of an irresponsible mismanagement of the global economy, guided only by ambition for wealth and power, must serve as a summons to a forthright reflection on man: “man is not only a freedom which he creates for himself. Man does not create himself. He is spirit and will, but also nature” (Benedict XVI, Address to the Bundestag, 22 September 2011, cited in Laudato Si’, 6). Creation is compromised “where we ourselves have the final word… The misuse of creation begins when we no longer recognize any instance above ourselves, when we see nothing else but ourselves” (ID. Address to the Clergy of the Diocese of Bolzano-Bressanone, 6 August 2008, cited ibid.). Consequently, the defense of the environment and the fight against exclusion demand that we recognize a moral law written into human nature itself, one which includes the natural difference between man and woman (cf. Laudato Si’, 155), and absolute respect for life in all its stages and dimensions (cf. ibid., 123, 136).

Without the recognition of certain incontestable natural ethical limits and without the immediate implementation of those pillars of integral human development, the ideal of “saving succeeding generations from the scourge of war” (Charter of the United Nations, Preamble), and “promoting social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom” (ibid.), risks becoming an unattainable illusion, or, even worse, idle chatter which serves as a cover for all kinds of abuse and corruption, or for carrying out an ideological colonization by the imposition of anomalous models and lifestyles which are alien to people’s identity and, in the end, irresponsible.

War is the negation of all rights and a dramatic assault on the environment. If we want true integral human development for all, we must work tirelessly to avoid war between nations and between peoples.

To this end, there is a need to ensure the uncontested rule of law and tireless recourse to negotiation, mediation and arbitration, as proposed by the Charter of the United Nations, which constitutes truly a fundamental juridical norm. The experience of these seventy years since the founding of the United Nations in general, and in particular the experience of these first fifteen years of the third millennium, reveal both the effectiveness of the full application of international norms and the ineffectiveness of their lack of enforcement.

When the Charter of the United Nations is respected and applied with transparency and sincerity, and without ulterior motives, as an obligatory reference point of justice and not as a means of masking spurious intentions, peaceful results will be obtained. When, on the other hand, the norm is considered simply as an instrument to be used whenever it proves favorable, and to be avoided when it is not, a true Pandora’s box is opened, releasing uncontrollable forces which gravely harm defenseless populations, the cultural milieu and even the biological environment.

The Preamble and the first Article of the Charter of the United Nations set forth the foundations of the international juridical framework: peace, the pacific solution of disputes and the development of friendly relations between the nations. Strongly opposed to such statements, and in practice denying them, is the constant tendency to the proliferation of arms, especially weapons of mass distraction, such as nuclear weapons. An ethics and a law based on the threat of mutual destruction – and possibly the destruction of all mankind – are self-contradictory and an affront to the entire framework of the United Nations, which would end up as “nations united by fear and distrust”. There is urgent need to work for a world free of nuclear weapons, in full application of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, in letter and spirit, with the goal of a complete prohibition of these weapons.

The recent agreement reached on the nuclear question in a sensitive region of Asia and the Middle East is proof of the potential of political good will and of law, exercised with sincerity, patience and constancy. I express my hope that this agreement will be lasting and efficacious, and bring forth the desired fruits with the cooperation of all the parties involved.

In this sense, hard evidence is not lacking of the negative effects of military and political interventions which are not coordinated between members of the international community. For this reason, while regretting to have to do so, I must renew my repeated appeals regarding to the painful situation of the entire Middle East, North Africa and other African countries, where Christians, together with other cultural or ethnic groups, and even members of the majority religion who have no desire to be caught up in hatred and folly, have been forced to witness the destruction of their places of worship, their cultural and religious heritage, their houses and property, and have faced the alternative either of fleeing or of paying for their adhesion to good and to peace by their own lives, or by enslavement.

These realities should serve as a grave summons to an examination of conscience on the part of those charged with the conduct of international affairs. Not only in cases of religious or cultural persecution, but in every situation of conflict, as in Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Libya, South Sudan and the Great Lakes region, real human beings take precedence over partisan interests, however legitimate the latter may be. In wars and conflicts there are individual persons, our brothers and sisters, men and women, young and old, boys and girls who weep, suffer and die. Human beings who are easily discarded when our only response is to draw up lists of problems, strategies and disagreements.

As I wrote in my letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on 9 August 2014, “the most basic understanding of human dignity compels the international community, particularly through the norms and mechanisms of international law, to do all that it can to stop and to prevent further systematic violence against ethnic and religious minorities” and to protect innocent peoples.

Along the same lines I would mention another kind of conflict which is not always so open, yet is silently killing millions of people. Another kind of war experienced by many of our societies as a result of the narcotics trade. A war which is taken for granted and poorly fought. Drug trafficking is by its very nature accompanied by trafficking in persons, money laundering, the arms trade, child exploitation and other forms of corruption. A corruption which has penetrated to different levels of social, political, military, artistic and religious life, and, in many cases, has given rise to a parallel structure which threatens the credibility of our institutions.

I began this speech recalling the visits of my predecessors. I would hope that my words will be taken above all as a continuation of the final words of the address of Pope Paul VI; although spoken almost exactly fifty years ago, they remain ever timely. “The hour has come when a pause, a moment of recollection, reflection, even of prayer, is absolutely needed so that we may think back over our common origin, our history, our common destiny. The appeal to the moral conscience of man has never been as necessary as it is today… For the danger comes neither from progress nor from science; if these are used well, they can help to solve a great number of the serious problems besetting mankind (Address to the United Nations Organization, 4 October 1965). Among other things, human genius, well applied, will surely help to meet the grave challenges of ecological deterioration and of exclusion. As Paul VI said: “The real danger comes from man, who has at his disposal ever more powerful instruments that are as well fitted to bring about ruin as they are to achieve lofty conquests” (ibid.).

The common home of all men and women must continue to rise on the foundations of a right understanding of universal fraternity and respect for the sacredness of every human life, of every man and every woman, the poor, the elderly, children, the infirm, the unborn, the unemployed, the abandoned, those considered disposable because they are only considered as part of a statistic. This common home of all men and women must also be built on the understanding of a certain sacredness of created nature.
Such understanding and respect call for a higher degree of wisdom, one which accepts transcendence, rejects the creation of an all-powerful élite, and recognizes that the full meaning of individual and collective life is found in selfless service to others and in the sage and respectful use of creation for the common good. To repeat the words of Paul VI, “the edifice of modern civilization has to be built on spiritual principles, for they are the only ones capable not only of supporting it, but of shedding light on it” (ibid.).

El Gaucho Martín Fierro, a classic of literature in my native land, says: “Brothers should stand by each other, because this is the first law; keep a true bond between you always, at every time – because if you fight among yourselves, you’ll be devoured by those outside”.

The contemporary world, so apparently connected, is experiencing a growing and steady social fragmentation, which places at risk “the foundations of social life” and consequently leads to “battles over conflicting interests” (Laudato Si’, 229).

The present time invites us to give priority to actions which generate new processes in society, so as to bear fruit in significant and positive historical events (cf. Evangelii Gaudium, 223). We cannot permit ourselves to postpone “certain agendas” for the future. The future demands of us critical and global decisions in the face of worldwide conflicts which increase the number of the excluded and those in need.

The praiseworthy international juridical framework of the United Nations Organization and of all its activities, like any other human endeavor, can be improved, yet it remains necessary; at the same time it can be the pledge of a secure and happy future for future generations. And so it will, if the representatives of the States can set aside partisan and ideological interests, and sincerely strive to serve the common good. I pray to Almighty God that this will be the case, and I assure you of my support and my prayers, and the support and prayers of all the faithful of the Catholic Church, that this Institution, all its member States, and each of its officials, will always render an effective service to mankind, a service respectful of diversity and capable of bringing out, for sake of the common good, the best in each people and in every individual.

Upon all of you, and the peoples you represent, I invoke the blessing of the Most High, and all peace and prosperity. Thank you.
