"I don't know how to save the world. I don't have the answers or The Answer. I hold no secret knowledge as to how to fix the mistakes of generations past and present. I am my brother's keeper

 I am my brother's keeper.
RESIDENTIALLY CHALLENGEDI believe that to meet the challenges of our times, human beings will have to develop a greater sense of universal responsibility. Each of us must learn to work not just for one self, one's own family or one's nation, but for the benefit of all humankind. Universal responsibility is the key to human survival. It is the best foundation for world peace,I say this as a veteran and citizen of humanity many will ask how do we accomplish this world goal that I can not answer but I suspect that until humanity sees our world as one human family violence and horror will continue not out of the establishments will but buy the silence of good people watching in fear of what's seems so much bigger than them and so they freeze that is terror my freedom loving friends and know this from seeing things of war and violence with my own eyes we can not win this game of life with these tactics "We were taught under the old ethic that man's business on this earth was to look out for himself. That was the ethic of the jungle; the ethic of the wild beast. Take care of yourself, no matter what may become of your fellow man. Thousands of years ago the question was asked; ''Am I my brother's keeper?'' That question has never yet been answered in a way that is satisfactory to civilized society. Yes, I am my brother's keeper. I am under a moral obligation to him that is inspired, not by any maudlin sentimentality but by the higher duty I owe myself. What would you think me if I were capable of seating myself at a table and gorging myself with food and saw about me the children of my fellow beings starving to death":Help ease their burden. According to the National Coalition for the Homeless, more than 67% of the homeless vet population served in our military for at least three consecutive years. Around 33% of these veterans were stationed in a location inside a war zone. Statistics also show that homeless veterans in the USA have served in a variety of wars and foreign tours, and approximately half of all US veterans who are homeless served in the Vietnam War , Iraq War and Afganistan War .

Obstacles to Helping Homeless Veterans Find Housing

There are a number of obstacles involved in helping homeless veterans find housing. According toU.S. Department of Veterans Affairs statistics 11% of the adult homeless population involves American veterans. Most of these veterans are single. They tend to live in cities and urban areas, and they struggle with substance abuse, mental health issues like PTSD and other forms of mental illness, or they have co-occurring disorders. we also assist non veterans as a part of are goal to help end homelessness nations wide

We make Homeless Survival Kits as part of a Life List goal to do the veteransproject and to assist all homeless people with the project together we can ,make a difference. It surprised me by becoming an easy way for ,for people to ask me questions, so I wrote about that over here: @ http://josephfreedomoranarchy.blogspot.com/2016/02/homeless-survival-packs-for-homeless.html

Talking to My Kid About Homelessness Without Giving Him Nightmares. This is something that has come up a lot in our country and will continue and in Cali where we are based, where we have a lot of folks on the streets.

We do give money to our local food bank, but I’d like to have something on me to offer when people ask for help, so people don't get the message that you can be indifferent to people in trouble. I did a little research on what to put in our kits, and we ended up using: please see Video below or @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBR-eGtr4Po

It is Importannt to stop the cycle of events that have even effected the children of our country
Most homeless kids are on the streets because they have been forced by circumstances that cause them to think that they are safer there than in any home they once knew.

Life in a shelter or on the streets puts homeless kids and youth at a higher risk for physical and sexual assault and abuse, physical illness, including HIV/AIDS,Support for shelters and transitional living and housing programs is necessary if we are going to change the landscape for homeless boys and girls in America. What I know about street outreach is that it is essential to dealing with the issue of youth homelessness.
We must all work together to end youth homelessness in America, We have weapons of mass destruction we have to address here at home. Poverty is a weapon of mass destruction. Homelessness is a weapon of mass destruction. Unemployment is a weapon of mass destruction. We have come dangerously close to accepting the homeless situation as a problem that we just can't solve. “People who are homeless are not social inadequates. They are people without homes.” Seven out of 10 Americans are one paycheck away from being homeless. Our aim is to convince the world's leaders that our cities, towns and villages need to be healthy, safe, just and sustainable.

In my eyes 'My home is a place of warmth and love. No one should be denied a home.'

what a mad world we have become I think!!!

“Tell me What would it hurt for me to give a homeless guy a couple bucks? Who the hell cares if he spends it on beer? Maybe beer is a step up for him from the harder stuff that knocked him onto the streets in the first place. Maybe, just maybe, he’s actually going to spend it on food (homeless people do eat, right?). Maybe, he really is a desperate human being who is trying to change his situation.”

Many can not see the truth in these words and yet To those who are struggling. To talk about a struggle, you're likely to forget about it. To be shown a struggle, you're likely not to forget it. But, to live through a struggle, you'll understand it.”
“Sometimes it's easy to walk by because we know we can't change someone's whole life in a single afternoon. But what we fail to realize it that simple kindness can go a long way toward encouraging someone who is stuck in a desolate place.”

Homeless people’s suffering belongs to the amusement of our political order under a game over the right of marginalised group being transformed into citizens for merely punishment and humiliation. The Public Space Protection Orders is a penalty over one’s condition suffering – it is a fine over the disempowered for being disempowered. This act allows power to fragment the homeless into sub-humans punishable for the state of utter misery and we the people have allowed this to come to pass What does that say about the We the people and what we have become and what will we tell are children when they too have a lack of compassion and leadership in christ ??.”

We can call the homeless man women or child anything we wish but I see this in the political forum That The War on Drugs and the War on Homelessness are on a collision course that no one in the media or in public life are willing to acknowledge. Ostensibly aimed at decreasing the use of illegal drugs, the War on Drugs succeeds only in increasing homelessness hence the establishment's goal is being set and dependency on the state and taxpayer met slaves are made in such ways .”

Although both homelessness and mental illness are complex, modern ideas, we have fallen into the habit of using phrases such as "housing the homeless" and "treating the mentally ill" as if we knew what counts as housing a homeless person or what it means to treat mental illness. But we do not. We have deceived ourselves that having a home and being mentally healthy are our natural conditions, and that we become homeless or mentally ill as a result of "losing" our homes or our minds. The opposite is the case. We are born without a home and without reason, and have to exert ourselves and are fortunate if we succeed in building a secure home and a sound mind if at all in this world we live in today .”

I asked my mother What I should do !! All she had to say on the issue is son Let your love be the kindness to make a homeless person believe that a soul needs something more than just four walls and a ceiling.” There was one young women I have been helping I ask here were the scars and bruise came from she did not answer me but cried I saw the bruises, the burns, the cuts— I knew which ones had been done to her and by someone she thought she could trust. Someone she thought loved her. I knew which ones she gave yourself and I cried with her I do not know if you can see through my eyes to my heart how we felt at that moment but I can say this I felt less pain in war than I did for her at that moment in time of both our lives.

I have placed myself in their shoes the homeless I had to see exactly how it felt what I found was humiliation and Ridicule of the utmost Begging is much more difficult than it looks. Contrary to popular belief, it’s a high art form that takes years of dedicated practice to master.

What I see as the truth and the problem with many is the fact we have become to contempt for poverty and it  stems from information overload--this is the enabler---our over education as privileged people-- perhaps the real culprit--and our secret assurance that we ourselves owe no one anything beyond the exhausting daily round. We will defend our lack of idealism to anyone and be horrifyingly well received in this age. Indeed, many so-called financial "philosophies" are in fact nothing more than elaborate justification for one petty selfishness after the next.

And yet we can't impose our own goals, wishes, or help on anyone. We can only teach, support, and love. We give them more opportunities, more choices. Then we love them regardless of the choices they make, hoping that they will learn to make better ones in the future The Key to overcoming the challenges in life is to make up your mind to overcome the Challenge and is something I have tryed dearly to share with those I have helped and am helping.

For me I care about a lot of issues. I care about libraries, I care about healthcare, I care about homelessness and unemployment. I care about net neutrality and the steady erosion of our liberties both online and off. I care about the rich/poor divide and the rise of corporate business and I am not silent about the issues of our time. I just hope that the fact I have used my voice for truth and change as made people ,citizens and friends distrust me in such a way that they would overlook this noble cause.

Hopefully one day we won’t have any homeless vets, or homeless people at all. In the meantime, having a few care packages to hand out is a great way to help out, and can be a fun group project for your family, church group, or book club!

Homeless survival packs Innculde these items Help ease their burden. Just $25 helps provide homeless survival packs
TOILETRIES
Include This: Baby wipes, lip balm, lotion, sunscreen Not This: Soap, hand sanitizer, mouthwash
A common mistake a lot of well-intentioned people make, is to put smelly soaps and lotions in the same container as food. Unfortunately, this makes everything taste and smell like soap. So, the first tip is to separate toiletries from food items. In fact, leave the soap out all together. Anywhere homeless people have access to showers will have soap they can use as well. Opt instead for baby wipes. Anything including alcohol, such as hand sanitizer and mouthwash, should also be left out.
FOOD
Include This: Applesauce, pudding cups, trail mix, beef jerky Not This: Crunchy granola bars, sticky food or candy Slim Jim Beef Jerky Tabasco 2The thing to keep in mind when including food, is that our friends living on the street don’t have regular access to dental care, so usually softer snacks are preferred over sticky and crunchy snacks. Strangely enough, however, the most sought after food item is beef jerky. Probably because it contains a ton of long-lasting protein, and fills you up! A variety of snacks to choose from is always nice, and most times they can trade for what they like.
MISC. ITEMS
Include This:Travel coffee mugs, gift cards, socks, band aids Not This:Cash, used items, shampoo, religious literature
When you travel by foot, clean, warm socks are always a welcomed gift! Travel coffee mugs are a great gift too, and will get the recipient a discount on refills. Including used items give the impression that this is your hand-me-down, and that the person who receives it isn’t good enough for a new [pair of socks, coffee cup, fill-in-the-blank]. Including a tract, or a Bible verse may seem like a kind gesture, but ultimately, unless you are going to be there for these people every day, it can seem trite, and unhelpful. Instead, if you are the religious type, take time to get to know the people you are handing out care packages too, and ask if they would feel comfortable praying with you.

PRESENTATION
We doThis: Hand deliver, smile, go in groups, stay and chat Not This: Throw out of our car, go alone
Aside from all of the physical challenges of getting food and shelter, homeless people are largely ignored and looked down upon. They are people, too! Take time to have a conversation with the people you are giving care packages to. You might be surprised at how similar their story is to your own, and how one misfortune landed them on the street. You will be blessing them more than you know just by giving them the respect and attention they deserve.

★ HELP FEED HOMELESS VETS CILDREN AND CITIZENS ALIKE ★
While veterans represent 8% of the total population in the United States, they are disproportionately represented among our homeless: a startling 12% of the homeless population are veterans, or 16% of homeless adults. Most homeless veterans–over 90%–are male. About half of homeless veterans are disabled.

You can help.
