And they call me a hater.
They Call Me Hater
I send this out to all those who send me hate mails and wish to assume I am a hater of humanity I beg to differ.
Some of the content in this piece is not appropriate for children.
An old man reflects on his life. He was born in a communist country but had the good fortune to immigrate legally to the United States where he worked tirelessly, rising up from penniless immigrant to successful businessman. He could have spent his riches during his lifetime but chose, instead, to save and pass them on to future generations both within and outside of his family. He should not be penalized for such thrift. Yet, there are those who want to appropriate our wealth and property and disperse it as they see fit. They look down on our work ethic, success, wealth, and generosity. They view our resulting enrichment as rightfully belonging to others. Their mantras are income inequality, economic justice and class warfare. We are the 1%, the 99% want to "eat."
And they call me a hater.
A man is elected president. His policies exacerbate the economy, deepen despair, and corrupt the culture. His signature legislation threatens the quality and stability of the healthcare system. He funnels more money than ever before into anti-poverty programs and education, yet both are epic fails. His country's stature in the world deteriorates to such an extent that other leaders do not take him seriously, his words are meaningless to allies, and some of the most heinous regimes of modern times play him for a fool. He blames conservatives for the economic woes and dysfunction in Washington. He blames whites for racial tensions; wealthy, educated Americans for income inequality; Republicans for the many scandals plaguing his administration; and America for the world's problems. He and his supporters are openly disdainful of America, conservatives, Republicans, whites, the wealthy, and the educated.
And they call me hater.
A five-year-old comes home from school reading about a King and his husband, the King. He is told that two loving mommies are the same as a mommy and a daddy, and better than a divorced home. He is forcibly exposed to ideas for which he is not developmentally prepared. Activists demand that gay marriage be treated the same as traditional marriage; that heteronormative standards not be taught in school or tolerated in society; and that social constructs like "he" and "she" be eliminated from the lexicon. Little, if any, science supports this agenda. Parental and community input or debate is verboten yet children are deliberately taught this in order to maximize the clout of the state and its sympathizers while minimizing the influence of the family. Teachers and parents who disagree are labeled "intolerant, unenlightened, misinformed homophobes" simply for wanting to protect the innocence of childhood and limit sexual discussions to those which are age appropriate.

A young girl visits her school counselor for advice about her pregnancy and is taken to a clinic for an abortion. Her parents are never informed. She returns home only to experience complications from the procedure or severe bouts of depression and loneliness afterwards that she doesn't understand. Advocates for "reproductive freedom" seek to undermine family bonds by opposing common sense laws that require parental notification before an underage child can have an abortion. Such laws protect the health and welfare of young -- often confused -- girls while respecting the rights of parents. Yet, these laws are touted as anti-women and oppressive because they supposedly deprive "women" of the ability to control their bodies. Reproductive rights radicals want young girls to have full access to contraception and abortion but won't allow them to have the same access to information because it might undermine their agenda of more experimental sex at increasingly younger ages. Young girls get mixed messages, do not have enough information to make such weighty decisions and are turned against their parents. The activists waging war against young girls do not have their health and welfare as a real priority.

A young man drops out of high school to pursue his passion for getting high. His dreams are no longer attainable; they disappear in a haze of smoke. As he further descends into addiction, he leaves behind a trail of people he has disappointed. Since he is going to get high anyway, the societal trend is not to help him but to profit from his vulnerabilities in order to pay the government's tab. Society is forced into an uncomfortable realm where we profit from Peter's addiction to pay for Paul's extravagance, trading potentially healthy lives for plentiful tax dollars. The battle against drug abuse and addiction is not a zero-sum game where society must either criminalize its use or profit from it. It is a complex, societal problem that cannot be solved by legalizing and taxing pot while minimizing the harm it can do to those who are the most vulnerable -- the young, the poor, the misguided, the mentally ill, and the addict.

A young black man thinks it's hilarious to smash the head of an old lady and knock her out. Another shoots a man in front of his wife just to steal their car. Another rapes a young girl living in his neighborhood while a small child is fatally shot in the crossfire of a gang shootout. These often fatherless school dropouts frequently land in jail because they do not live in a culture that provides them with the guidance they need to make positive life choices. The culprit, we are told, is racism: that whites oppress blacks, preventing them from accessing opportunities that will allow them to rise above their circumstances. Yet, black Americans are successful at the highest levels of government, education, the military, pop culture, and the professions. Rather than rage against whitey, black communities need to be strengthened from within and accept that young black men end up in prison for the crimes they commit -- usually in their own communities -- not because of the color of their skin.

A young white boy walks into a school and annihilates scores of children and teachers, after killing the only person who loves him unconditionally and could probably answer all of our questions -- his mother. He takes her guns, then, takes the lives of the innocent. It is a gruesome scene. Many blame his mother for having guns in the home knowing her adult son was unstable. We don't know what precipitated his rampage but we do know that ill-conceived, politically-correct laws prevent family members from having their loved ones, over the age of 18, obtain the psychiatric help they need. Activists use this grim incident to justify a war on the Second Amendment -- a war they wage against caring, responsible people who just want to protect their children from precisely this kind of tragedy.
And they call me hater.
A man works for the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and is charged with felony possession of child pornography.http://www.edgeboston.com/index.php?ch=&sc=&sc3=&id=154512 Investigators found an email he wrote that included a picture of a grown man sticking his erect penis into the anus of a 2-3 year old child. He comments: "Damn, what a sight seeing huge **** in tiny hole, tearing it open. That [n-word] must be in coon heaven stuffin it in the tiny white hole!" He is sentenced to a mere 6 months in jail. His attorney says, "[He] is a wonderful, kind, sensitive human being who made a terrible mistake." "Wonderful, kind, sensitive human beings" don't buy, view, collect, or comment on child porn. This was indeed terrible but was no mistake. As for his pension, his attorney is confident he will be able to collect it, after all, he didn't commit the offense while on the job and it isn't a crime of moral turpitude (depraved conduct that "shocks the public conscience"). If this isn't depraved conduct that shocks the public conscience, we have surely lost our way.
This slap on the wrist doesn't fit the crime. The toddler, if still alive, will be forever haunted. The abuse, exploitation and death of the most innocent among us, are crimes against humanity that rival -- if not surpass -- some of history's most infamous monsters.
And they call me hater.
It starts with an attitude here and a law there. Political leaders who think they know better, set the tone. Time-tested values that have benefitted the whole of mankind for millennia are turned inside out. Science and biology are either ignored or selectively relied upon. Culture, tradition, and mores are cast aside for so-called modernity, expression, and freedom. The expectations we used to have about the fruits of one's labor, free markets, social behavior, criminal actions, family, virtue, and civic society are now considered unjust, liberty-depriving evils that have been replaced with politically correct notions of economic, social, and racial justice.
The supposedly "tolerant" ones disdain 5000 years of the evolution of a moral code and the laws under which society has flourished. They redefine the freedoms we embrace to include belief, worship, and speech as only they do. The people they claim we hate, are the very individuals we seek to uplift.
The "tolerant" ones use legislation and the political process to turn standards of normalcy into outliers and outliers into accepted norms. Anyone who flouts the new ways is a relic and a danger to freedom. Although the old ways are no longer frowned upon or punishable... the old believers are. What were once tolerated minorities are now intolerant tyrannies... fueled by hate.
And, still, they call me hater.
