Of course: Obama says he’s eager to remove Cuba from list of states who sponsor terror
They're just cuddly old Marxists now, apparently.
Of course: Obama says he’s eager to remove Cuba from list of states who sponsor terror
It fits his pattern beautifully. You approach a rogue regime, indicate you want to make friends with them, demand absolutely no conditions on their part, and proceed to bestow them with all kinds of rewards and concessions they did nothing to earn and as far as anyone can see, they didn’t even ask for.
But here we are. Iran gets the bomb in no more than 13 years and gets all sanctions removed. Now Cuba’s looking at the promise of diplomatic recognition from the U.S., although they’re the ones making demands (and why not when they’re dealing with Barack Obama?). Cuba’s been on the State Department’s list of states who sponsor terrorism since the early 1980s, but apparently we’re about to unilaterally give that up too:http://www.caintv.com/obama-on-npr-sure-this-iran-de

President Barack Obama said Tuesday he would act fast to take Cuba off the list of terrorism-sponsoring countries once he gets a State Department recommendation.
“As soon as I get a recommendation, I’ll be in a position to act on it,” Obama said in an interview with National Public Radio.
In a March interview with Reuters Obama had said he hoped to have an embassy open in Cuba by the time of the April 10-11 Summit of the Americas later this week. There Obama will meet with Cuban president Raul Castro. Cuba has made it clear that it will not move on certain negotiations until it is removed from the list.
Someone explain this to me: What does Cuba have to offer the United States that is motivating Obama to meet Castro’s demands to start “certain negotiations”? What do we need from them? Vintage 1950s vehicles? Lessons on how to engineer an even more complete government takeover of health care? Maybe representatives of the mainstream media went to Obama wanting to know how to be more faithful servants of the king, and he figured he’s check with the experts, but they won’t help until they get what they want.
Diplomatic recognition from the United States should be something Cuba has to earn in any number of ways, starting with a complete change in their approach to human rights and politcal freedom. Instead, they’re dictating the terms to us and Obama is rushing to comply. What is even the point of doing this? The only one I can see is that Obama is like all hard-core leftists who have always believed there was no reason for unfriendly U.S. policies toward Cuba, and he wants to be the president to end those policies just because it’s one of those left-wing fantasies he would find it cool to turn into reality. Just like government health care. Just like making friends with Iran. Just like state control of the Internet. Stuff like this is what the left lives for.
I wonder what price Kim Jong Un would extract from Obama in exchange for accepting trillions of dollars in economic aid and nuclear infrastructure. It’s worth asking, no?
