Hillary: Y'know, 'Election Day' should really be about twenty days longIf you’re a cynic who thinks Hillary Clinton is just a money-grubbing political lifer with an achievement-free résumé, well shame on you.  Like all Democrats, Hillary Clinton is a wise, humble, and deeply caring person who spends her days worrying about the sanctity of our Republic. That’s why, when she continues launches her campaign, she’ll do so with a major focus on voting rights.

You may know “voting rights” as those things that we all have, but which Dems like to pretend we don’t.

Hillary, in her capacity as the smartest woman in America, has decided that a single “Election Day” is a devious plan designed to disenfranchise minority voters. So, she’s going to summon up all her buzzwords and call for a whopping 20 days of early voting in all fifty states.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton plans to call for an early voting period of at least 20 days in every state.

  Clinton will call for that standard in remarks Thursday in Texas about voting rights, her campaign said. She will also criticize what her campaign calls deliberate restrictions on voting in several states, including Texas.

  The former secretary of state’s address at historically-black Texas Southern University in Houston comes as Democrats pursue legal challenges to voting rule changes approved by Republican legislatures in several states.

A “historically-black” University in a southern state? That means Hillary will have an opportunity to trot out one of her accents!

It seems that (despite no evidence that this is actually happening) evil conservatives are out there trying to destroy people’s ability to cast their ballots. So team Clinton is ready to take action.

“This is, I think, a moment when we should be expanding the franchise,” Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta said in an interview. “What we see in state after state is this effort by conservatives to restrict the right to vote.”

  The legal effort began late last month with lawsuits in Wisconsin and Ohio, both presidential battleground states.

  “This lawsuit concerns the most fundamental of rights guaranteed citizens in our representative democracy — the right to vote,” lawyers wrote in a federal complaint filed Friday in Wisconsin.

Of course, this is Hillary Clinton. No, she doesn’t care about voting rights, nore does she care about empowering minorities. She only cares about herself. There’s no altruistic motive here.

Calling for a 20 Day early voting window will give her a campaign issue, and allow her to start banshee-wailing about how “Evil Republicans don’t want you to vote.”  If she doesn’t get her way (which she probably won’t) she can blame the opposition. If she does, the 20 day period would give her people time read the tea leaves, shift money around, file lawsuits, target specific districts, mobilize their ground troops, buy votes, and - in a word - cheat.

It’s a political game designed to anger adn rile up her base. Nothing more. ...And if it’s the best strategy she’s got, she’s headed for an ugly election DAY.
