If Islam insists it is a religion of peace, then who’s understanding of ‘peace’ are we going to use? Will there be peace only if we submit or will there be peace when Islam learns to live side by side with the rest of the world?

Does anyone understand Islam?  Countless Muslims don’t even comprehend it.  Many followers of Islam, especially non-Arab Muslims, have either never read the Quran or the Hadith (Muhammad’s purported quotes), or they read it in Arabic and have no idea what it is saying.

Yes, there are many peaceful Muslims, but they are drowned out by the many flaws, contradictions, intolerance and immorality of the radical Islamists.  Many young Muslims are taught by Mullahs who pick and choose the Hadith and Koranic writings, giving the people a conflicting view of Islam.  This deformity continues in their psyche, even into their adulthood.  And then when terrorists attack, kill or mutilate, peaceful Muslims insist it is not the real Islam.

All religions have their contradictions in practice, but in Islam it is the difference between life and death.  The wholesale murder of Muslims by other Muslims is commonplace.  Are you Sunni or Shia?  The Sunni believe it is enough for the leader of Islam to belong to the same tribe as Muhammad while the Shia believe a leader must belong to the family of the prophet.  Through the centuries, this conflict has cost countless lives.

Islam is a seventh century culture in a twenty-first century world.  It is a religious, social AND political system as purportedly revealed to Muhammad by the angel Gabriel.  In an area of the world filled with pagan deities, Muhammad, in an effort to unite the monotheistic Jews and other Semitic peoples, chose the moon-god Allah as the one true god, symbolized by the crescent moon.  The Jews were not buying and the rest is history.

Words and gestures mean certain things, but in the Muslim culture, they have vastly different meanings than what we would expect.  Muslims say that Islam means ‘peace’ when, in actuality, it means ‘submission,’ i.e., when I put my foot on your neck.  Peace in Islam means an ‘absence of war.’  It doesn’t mean an understanding or a tolerance or even an acceptance of another point of view.  It simply means a temporary halt to hostilities.

President Obama insists on saying ISIL instead of ISIS like the rest of the world.  While everyone ignores the divergence, Is there a hidden meaning behind it?  ISIS means the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.  ISIL means the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.  The Levant includes Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus, parts of Turkey, Jordan, Palestine and ISRAEL.  Is the President communicating a signal?  Is President Obama encouraging a unified radical Islam or worse, declaring that Israel is not a legitimate State?

Allahu akbar?  Allah is greater?  Greater than who?

Islam’s social practices are contrary to the Western experience.  Because Muslims are encouraged to live as Mohammad lived, slavery, polygamy and male dominance is deeply ingrained into their reality.  The honor killing of a daughter because she dishonors the family is widely acceptable.  Approximately 500 honor killings a year occur in Pakistan alone.  Many more go unreported.  The Palestinian Authority routinely gives pardons or suspended sentences for honor murders.  Worldwide, 91% of honor killings are committed by Muslims.

What so many Westerners, including many in the political class, fail to understand is that a non-Muslim (Kafir) is considered an infidel.  Infidels are considered to be lower than dogs.  They can be lied to, cheated, murdered, used as slaves, or whatever.  Infidels do not have to be treated with fairness, honesty or compassion.  Negotiating for an agreement or treaty with Muslims is very problematic.  An agreement between Muslims and infidels is, in the Muslim world, an opportunity to regroup and reload.  That is why many are dubious about the latest Iran nuclear deal so celebrated by the Obama administration.

Proponents of Islam will say that Allahu Akbar, the phrase Islamic terrorists shout just before they kill you, means “God is great.”  It sounds honest enough, but that is not what it means.  In reality it means “Allah is greater.”

Allah does not mean ‘God.’  In Arabic, ‘ilah’ means God.  Muslims view Allah as a proper noun, a name.  You can’t replace a name with a descriptive noun.  Allah is simply the name of the Islamic god.

Muslims also claim that ‘akbar’ means great.  No.  Akbar in English is translated ‘greater’.  Great in Arabic would be ‘kebir’.  They are not interchangeable.

To say ‘God is great’ is simply a way for radical Muslims to promote proselytization.  So, I ask:  Allahu akbar?  Allah is greater?  Greater than who?

If ‘radical Islam’ is not the real Islam, than what is?

If ‘radical Islam’ is not the real Islam, than what is?  If ‘peaceful Islam’ is the real Islam, where is the affront when Islamic terrorists murder wholesale?  Where are the demonstrations, the protests, the objections?  Where is the outrage?

There are many peaceful Muslims, but are they unwittingly providing radical Islamists with a comfort zone?  Are they truly peaceful, hiding in fear or are they complicit?

“This division is not one by religious affiliation, rather it separates the extremists and the peace-loving people.
Therefor I'm optimistic: now a humanistic Islam is getting shaken awake. Moderate Islam needs now to finally break cover and explain how to deal with the violence-glorifying parts of the Quran. The (psychological) repression that this has nothing to do with our belief doesn't work anymore. We have to face this challenge.
