In high-handed imperious words backed by legal counsel,  this is what the President Barack Obama-influenced Canadian government is now telling all members of the Citizen Journalism world: Bloggers and online journalists caught attending our well-rehearsed “press briefings”  will be tossed out on their ears.

In a blacked-out lib-left government world, you are not who you are—but only who the government says you are.

Alberta’s “for the working stiff”  New Democrat Party (NDP) has brazenly and undemocratically banned Ezra Levant’s Conservative internet news outlet, The Rebel from all press briefings.

The press conference from which The Rebel’s Alberta bureau chief, Sheila Gunn Reid was unceremoniously security agent-escorted out of the legislature was addressed by both Alberta Premier Rachel Notely and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In Canada, a country recognized by the rest of the world for its politesse, the same election team that got Barack Obama elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2012, propelled Obama protegé Justin Trudeau—son of the late Pierre Elliott Trudeau—to the Canadian Prime Minister’s Office with only a scanty 39% of the popular vote back in October.

The NDP Alberta government, for all intents and purposes,  is the federal government.  The lib-left are on a roll.  All 10 Canadian provinces with the exception of Saskatchewan are now governed by the lib-left who are gleefully ready to kiss-off Internet freedom of expression.

‘Inclusionary’ is an adjective only used when the lib-left decide who’s the minority.

The newly-elected Rachel Notely-led Alberta government’s first move after coming to power was to go straight after Alberta’s job-providing energy sector.

Now with blessings from an Obama-backed,  celebrity Prime Minister,  whose only work experience originates with being a part time drama teacher and a snowboard teacher, the Alberta government is attempting muzzling ALL online reporters.

They only called for a review of media policy because they had to.

The Alberta government is playing downright cutsey in its alibis for cutting off bloggers and online journalists from their sanctified press briefings.

“Our rationale on this is very simple and it comes down to one thing: It’s the fact that Ezra Levant himself has testified under oath that he is not a reporter and so we don’t consider him a reporter,” said Premier Noteley’s director of communications, Cheryl Oates. — apparently referencing Levant’s 2014 testimony in Ontario Superior Court as a defendant in a libel case.” (National Post, Feb. 16, 2016)

Of course, as far as the Alberta government is concerned the ban on internet reporters has nothing to do with the fact that Ezra Levant’s plucky The Rebel is the only conservative news outlet in earnest competition with the government-funded, lib-left CBC.

Providing truthful and accurate news for Canadian voters is more a necessity now than it ever was.  Had the mainstream media been doing its job instead of cheering him on, Barack Obama could never have installed a lib-left ideologue on an unsuspecting Canadian electorate in October, 2015.

Until then, Canada had been financially secure under the Conservative Stephen Harper government for a decade.

In Canada, the Liberal Kathleen Wynne-governed province of Ontario, not long ago this country’s “economic engine”  is headed toward bankruptcy.  Rachel Notely’s NDP Alberta is soon to follow.

If the Canadian government can decide that Ezra Levant is not a reporter/journalist, it can decide that any one else is not a reporter/journalist.

“Of course I’m a journalist. I have been for more than 20 years,” Levant told the Post via email. “Opinion journalists are journalists, and are naturally allowed to cover the government. Is Oates claiming otherwise?”

“It’s outrageous that a government would arrogate unto itself the power to choose who is and isn’t a journalist and would enforce that blacklist with armed sheriffs and Department of Justice lawyers.”

“Later Tuesday, the government announced that it had appointed a retired journalist to review the government’s policy and report back within two to three weeks.”
Message to The Rebel from Canada Free Press:  It is not inside spoon-fed government “press briefings” where the real news takes place.  As the hard-hitting Judicial Watch in the country next door discovered, it is what goes on outside the briefings with the mainstream media always looking the other way.
