The 14th Amendment to the Constitution created a secondary class of citizens so the slaves could become federal citizens and be "freed." The only problem today, is that most people have been duped into giving up their Sovereignty to become second class Federal citizens. In America we are born American Nationals, and do not become federal citizens unless we legally are duped into swearing allegiance to the federal state. Trouble is, nobody tells us this, because New World Order society planners want to enslave us to the federal debt we did not create, and make us pay and pay because they maneuvered the United States into bankruptcy in the 1930's. We have been sold into economic slavery.
Not just "we," but specifically your own personal body has been sold without anyone telling you. There are many definitions of The United States. The law says the US "includes,"- "includes" means "is only." Title 28 Section 1332(d)"United States"(d) The word ''States'', as used in this section, includes the Territories, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. It does not mention the sovereign state republics, because they are not included.  According to Gardina v. Board of Registrars of Jefferson County - Supreme court of Alabama Feb 2, 1909: "There are two classes of citizens under our form of government, citizens of the United States and of the state; and one may be a citizen of the former without being a citizen of the latter." Merrian v. New York. New York is foreign to the United States, and 28 USC 1603(a) "foreign state" is a political subdivision of a foreign state, which is a separate legal person that is neither a citizen of a State of the United states. Elk v. Wilkins 112 US 94 Indians born within the territorial limits of the United States, members of, and owing immediate allegiance to, one of the Indian Tribes (an alien, though dependent power), although in a geographical sense born in the United States, are no more "born in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof," within the meaning of the first section of the Fourteenth Amendment, than the children of subjects of any foreign government born within the domain of that government or the children born within the United States, of ambassadors or other public ministers of foreign nations.

Most don't know it, but most Americans probably have no income or commerce connected with the corporate United States body politic and its zones and territories, i.e. District of Columbia, Guam,  American Samoa, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands or any of the States of the Union or political subdivisions, thereof, all their earnings from their labour are received from outside these areas, not from within said areas which are foreign to them and they have never been engaged in any revenue taxable activity involving alcohol, tobacco, or firearms, so without a Birth Registration certificate or Social Security Number, they are not legally subject to the jurisdiction of the United States corporate body politic. But no one will tell you this, or lets you know you were born free, because you won't pay taxes or die in contrived wars. It will upset the International Bankers who are siphoning off our economic base. They want you to believe you "have to" be their slave. This is accomplished through societal conditioning, and legally, through the constructive fraud of un-rebutted presumptions and withholding all the facts from you. The Feds have got everyone with a birth certificate and a social security number to become subservient to them. During our signing up for an adhesion-to-the-federal-body-politic birth certificate and social security number, we didn't know it, but the Feds used these applications to create two implied (unwritten, called "constructive") trusts in which we were duped into giving the Feds a "security interest"

of ownership in our bodies. They trade these security interests (a monetized copy of your birth certificate, and a monetized copy of your social security application) in international commerce as if they were money. Presto! Your body is now the collateral on the national debt.

 And you didn't know about it or knowingly agree to it. 76 American Jurisprudence 2d "TRUSTS" section 210: "Promise, agreement or contract - Generally speaking a constructive (implied, unwritten) trust does not require any agreement between the parties - either actual, or express (in writing), or implied, to create the trust, Rather, a constructive trust generally stems from the equitable powers of the court."

Once we legally give them this power, they skim off the cream, and keep the value of the trust (as a piece of paper commercially tradable security interest) and then give us back possession of our bodies and make us responsible for the upkeep of the trust property, again, trust property means our bodies. It's a perfect master/slave relationship for the Feds, they get the value we freely give away, but they have no worries since we, as mere possessors, are the ones now legally bound to have to do all the maintenance on ourselves and our property and to follow the trust rules and be "law abiding."
Since we obviously proved ourselves insane by the act of giving away control of our lives to someone else, the courts have ruled that by the performance of this insane act we are obviously incompetent, and therefore, they need to appoint a Guardian over us, and who better to be the Guardian than the trustee we gave the power to, the Feds. The courts use the federal and state statutes as the daily enforcement/maintenance rules for the upkeep of the trust property, our contracted into slavery bodies.

This scam is all Constitutional under our exercising our Right to Contract. Here is the statute, or trust rule, where we let them legally turn us all into "Federal Personnel," subject to federal jurisdiction by the act of getting a Social Security number. UNITED STATES CODE TITLE 5 - GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION AND EMPLOYEES i. PART I - THE AGENCIES GENERALLY (1) CHAPTER 5 - ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE (a) SUBCHAPTER II - ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE 552a. Records maintained on individuals (a) Definitions. - For purposes of this section - (12) The term ''Federal benefit program'' means any program administered or funded by the Federal Government, or by any agent or State on behalf of the Federal Government, providing cash or in-kind assistance in the form of payments, grants, loans, or loan guarantees to individuals; and (13) the term ''Federal personnel'' means officers and employees of the Government of the United States, members of the uniformed services (including members of the Reserve Components), individuals entitled to receive immediate or deferred retirement benefits under any retirement program of the Government of the United States (including survivor benefits). Social Security is a Federal benefit program. You, as federal personnel, don't have any freedom in healthcare or in any other area because you appoint them your master to take care of you. But their version of "taking care" of us is to burn babies, raid clinics, imprison doctors, therapists and educators, tax us un mercilessly, and outlaw real cures for disease.

This fictitious statutory federal citizenship status, and your body's secret existence as mere collateral for a security interest traded as an article of international commerce is legally signified whenever your name is spelled in ALL CAPITALS on financial and legal documents. Check your mail. This appointment of being our masters that we were tricked into giving them has now, through their un rebutted tort feaster fraud, grown to become their almost complete dictatorial control power over our bodies, our finances, our minds, or our children, and how we use them. This power over us is, or is about to become, SLAVERY. We are squarely to blame. Through our Right to contract power of appointment. Yes, we did appoint them trustees over our bodies, but only because they withheld all the facts from us. This is contract fraud. They did not tell us when we signed up, that these secret trusts were created, and that the creation of these unwritten constructive trusts would give them this complete statutory control over us. They couldn't. They know perfectly well that we aren't really insane, and that we would never agree to such a contract if we openly knew about it.

Would anyone in their right mind give someone the power to burn their children alive? That's what just happened in Waco, Texas. They don't tell us this is why they can, for example, take your children away from you or deny you life restoring oxygen/ozone and other therapies, or deny you really meaningful health care, and enslave you into being responsible for an artificially created and fraudulent national debt, or make you give up a third of the fruits of your labour to the federal trustee as payment for managing your trust- in the form of "taxes" - which all only go overseas to fatten the coffers of the foreign multinational IMF bankers. They CONCEAL from us that WE OURSELVES, by using our own God given right to contract, in this case for a birth certificate and social security number, gave away our rights by using our "POWER OF  APPOINTMENT, " to unknowingly make them trustees over our lives. However, we the individual people also, AS THE ORIGINAL TRUST CREATORS, HAVE THE POWER AND RIGHT TO LEGALLY AND PEACEFULLY UN APPOINT, or "RELEASE," and "TERMINATE" THIS ADHESION TRUST RELATIONSHIP with them.

No longer can they fine and jail us, and break up our families, and send our children off to die in their wars. The truth of this is right in front of us in the statutes, but the evil tort feasters in government have hidden the statutory PROCEDURAL PATH to the RELEASE AND TERMINATION OF ALL TRUSTEE POWER OVER US deep in some corner of every state and federal lawbook.
The statutory release path is unbelievably, and fraudulently, found under different titles such as, "Act for the Simplification of Fiduciary Security Transfers," or under plumbing codes (The power of appointment flows through the trust as in a "pipe"), or elsewhere, to deliberately make the release-termination path almost impossible to find. Who actually reads ALL the laws? They know very few do, and count on you not doing it so you never know you can rebut their presentments.

BECAUSE THE FACT OF THE CREATION OF THE INITIAL ADHESION, ALONG WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO TERMINATE THE CONSTRUCTIVE ADHESION TRUSTS IS WITHHELD FROM US, THAT PROVES INTENTIONAL FRAUD ON THEIR PART. A BREECH OF THEIR FIDUCIARY DUTY AS TRUSTEES TO BE HONEST! A BREECH OF FIDUCIARY DUTY IS GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION OF THE TRUST. DUE TO THEIR MISREPRESENTATION AND FRAUD WE, AS THE CREATORS, HAVE A RIGHT TO UNCREATE OR "RELEASE" AND "TERMINATE" THE  ADHESION TRUST SLAVE CONTRACTS UNDER EQUITY. IT IS ONLY UNDER AN EQUITY JURISDICTION WHERE THE TRUE OWNER/CREATOR HAS THE POWER TO DO THIS. IF ONLY WE KNOW ABOUT IT!

They are indeed entitled to the relief they seek, but since they used the wrong but since they used the wrong procedures and wording the court could not "hear" what they were saying. The proper procedural application of this heretofore secret knowledge in the courts returns us and the doctors and ministers and teachers and mothers and fathers and everyone else to a state of freedom of choice in our lives, with no big brother forcing poisons into our food and healthcare, no reaching into our pockets, and no stuffing toxins into our minds at School. Here's the text of the 1st Section of the 14th Amendment:

 All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its  jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

 The idea behind defining national citizenship in the 14th Amendment was for the purpose of protecting the newly freed blacks from the law of the states in which they resided. Previously, blacks were "persons" for the sake of apportioning representation, but were not "citizens" of the United States, or of their state, and were therefore not entitled to protection of the Bill of rights.

This was made very apparent in the "Dred Scott v Sandford", which held that Dredd Scott, a slave, did not have standing to sue in the Federal Court because the Court did not recognize him as a citizen of the United States. The USSC held that blacks were "beings of an inferior order, and altogether unfit to associate with the white race, either in social or political relations, and so far inferior that they had no rights which the white man was bound to respect." (From Wikipedia)  Although what the court said was evil and wrong, it was legally correct because the US Constitution was intentionally set up to incorporate the evils of slavery without mentioning slaves. This was done by the aforementioned use of terms "person" and "citizen". It was surprising to many that they had the "Bill of Rights" protections only as against the federal government, but prior to the 14th Amendment, the states were not held bound to these. The 14th  Amendment incorporated the bill of rights protections to all citizens of the United States against ALL government.

Thus, the 14th Amendment incorporated the Privilveges and Immunities Clause:
No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States;

The Due Process Clause:

nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;
And the equal protection clause:

nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. The "Gardina v. Board of Registrars of Jefferson County" appears to be pointing out the difference between State citizenship and United States citizenship: "There are two classes of citizens under our form of government, citizens of the United States and of the state; and one may be a citizen of the former without being a citizen of the latter." Thus one may be a citizen of the United States without being a citizen of, say, Texas. In Elk v Wilkins, it appears that the court is pointing out that the Native American Tribes has a different status as "nations" within the United States, and thus not a citizen by birth. I couldn't find the "Merrian" case mentioned. I am interested in learning more if there is really something to this. I think the real evil here is that the Supreme Court has held that Corporations are "persons" under the Constitution and therefore entitled to protection. It is really insane when you consider that the Supreme court has recently held that foreign born nationals in a foreign state are not "persons" entitled to Constitutional protection. Madness.

Blaming several recent outbreaks of measles on the prevalence of “anti-vaccine information” online, Schiff believes that it’s now Facebook’s job to actively steer users towards only pro-vaccine content in order to keep people “protected.”

“There is strong evidence to suggest that at least part of the source of this trend is the degree to which medically inaccurate information about vaccines surface (sic) on the websites where many Americans get their information,” Schiff is quoted as saying, providing absolutely none of the supposedly “strong evidence” that he says proves that disease outbreaks are caused by people reading alternative information about vaccines on Facebook.

“The algorithms which power these services are not designed to distinguish quality information from misinformation or misleading information, and the consequences of that are particularly troubling for public health issues,” he added, inferring that the “all vaccines are safe and effective” narrative represents the only “quality information” about vaccines.

Facebook capitulates to Schiff’s demands, says it’s working on new ways to “combat the problem”

YouTube actively demoting videos that tell the other side of the vaccine story

Google, which also received the same letter from Schiff, did not immediately respond with a statement like Facebook did. However, the Google-owned YouTube platform last month took action to demote videos that promote “misinformation” about vaccines, using the example of videos that promote “a phony miracle cure for a serious illness.”

Keep in mind that Schiff, the ringleader in all this, is the same tool bag that’s been parroting the “Russian collusion” conspiracy theory any chance he gets. Despite a total lack of evidence that the Trump campaign in any way conspired with Vladimir Putin to “steal” the 2016 election, Schiff continues to tout it as though it were undeniable fact.

And now with vaccines, Schiff wants all Americans to be forced to consume only pro-vaccine propaganda, citing the “dangers” of online free speech. It’s an Orwellian nightmare that Schiff and his fellow Democrats believe is necessary to promote the “greater good” – even though numerous outbreaks in the past occurred in populations that were fully vaccinated.

According to Bloomberg, the first result that turns up when searching for “vaccines” on YouTube is a “middle ground” video that features a debate between those who support them and those who reject them. The fourth result is the first episode of the popular “The Truth About Vaccines” video series, which has around 1.2 million views.

If we take an objective look at today’s America, we can clearly see that all the elements of a genocide, all nine elements, are in place and the event is simply awaiting the right catalyst.

Almost everybody knows that something is terribly wrong. Even the most politically unaware person has a sense of foreboding, the calm before the storm feeling, if you will. Unfortunately, most Americans have been conditioned, dumbed down and kept in the dark regarding the hell that will soon await them.

Thanks to technocracy and the likes of Google and the social credit beast system being installed in both China and America, Americans now live in a complete police state. The framework has been completed and now the real construction and implementation of this police state apparatus has begun in earnest. the full implementation is simply awaiting the right leader at the right time, following the right false flag.

Our enslavement became a primary emphasis of the Deep State controlled government under President Bush. Out banker hijacked government had eviscerated the Constitution through tyrannical legislative acts such as The Military Commissions Act, The Patriot Acts I and II, The John Warner Defense Act, The NDAA, Quantitative Easing I, II and to infinity. Today, it is Red Flag Laws.

Most disturbingly, our Deep State government shows every sign of beginning to carry out the Bill Ayer’s promised extermination of millions of Americans who could not be re-educated. Who was Bill Ayers? II. Regime Control of All Communications

The state must prevent a coalescence of consciousness in which victims of the regime are allowed to communicate with another as a prelude to organized resistance. Therefore, every totalitarian regime must and will seize control of all major communications. It worked for Hitler, Stalin and Mao and now it is being put in place by by the various social media outlets. Publish something about Christians on Facebook and Youtube and see how quickly it disappears.

It is bad enough that Amber Lyons, three time Emmy award winning reporter and former CNN journalist, had revealed that CNN accepts government payment to cover some stories and to ignore other stories. Her six-year-old revelations are now coming into full view.

We also know that over 95% of the media is controlled by 6 corporations, all who have the same plans for global enslavement with a one world government, one world economy, carbon taxes, no freedom of speech or religion and no private property ownership.

The plan is simple, control the message and the regime stands a better chance of controlling the people. As previously reported on the CSS, Obama gave the codes to the Internet DNS servers, which will lead to the total control the internet, Chinese style. This means that the UN has absolute access to the DNS servers and some behind-the-scenes foreign bureaucrat will shut your website down for daring to expose the truth about the oppressive world government being installed. When the internet is gone, the last uncontrolled mode of communication will be gone with it.

Many in the patriot movement bemoan the abject ignorance and apathy of most of their fellow Americans, now you know one of the major causes. The media is anesthetizing the American people prior to the coming genocide. The Jussie Smollett case was an attempt of getting the people to commit genocide against each other. the Smollett endgame was clearly a race war, helter skelter style and the MSM was caught red-handed participating to further the false flag.

III. The Construction and Staffing
of Concentration Camps

Not only do the TSA perverts commit felonies against our flying public every day, as these pot-bellied misfits grope our mothers and our children, they are in the midst of rolling out a far-reaching VIPER programwhich would make Hitler’s Gestapo jealous. Very soon, if you want to travel on the street, go to a mall, attend a sporting event, enter a  school, attend the prom, board a bus or a train or travel from one city to another on the highway, you will be subjected to the same TSA felonious and invasive search protocols in the pursuit of any of the aforementioned activities.

This is all part of the conditioning process in which the average citizen is being programmed that it is the government that is the sovereign, not the people.

V. The Use of Citizen Spies

America is on the verge of reliving the horror of the Salem Witch Trials in which anyone with an ax to grind can bear false witness against their neighbor. Nobody is safe in such a society.

Chances are your church is working with DHS to brainwash you through the misapplication of Roman’s 13 as part of the Clergy Response Team. This also means that they are providing access to the personal information of their parishioners. An estimated 100,000 pastors belong to NOVAD’s Clergy Response Team.

America is also witnessing the establishment of secular citizen groups, such as Infragard, which operates under the authority of the FBI. Infragard members are told to spy on fellow citizens and, in some cases, are even allowed to use lethal force.

Then there is the current roll out of light poles which tracks your every movement in a program called Intellistreets. And of course there are the programs like Google’s Nest in which privacy is a thing of the past.  Every move you make, every breath you take, the Deep State is tracking you.

VI. The Rise of Unsanctioned
Paramilitary Forces

Obama’s ACORN thugs have been replaced by ISIS, MS-13 and the cartels admitted to America by the borderless Democratic Socialists and they are preparing to carry out their reign of terror.

VII. The Use of Dispassionate, Third Party
Entities to Implement Initial Reign of Terror

Dictators have long used dispassionate third parties to carry out their heinous acts designed to suppress all opposition to a burgeoning totalitarian regime. For several decades, the Chinese Communists have also suppressed dissent by the use of troops from provinces which are not in proximity to the troubled area.

Both Obama and his predecessor, George W. Bush, have amassed a mighty army of untold number designed to subjugate the American people. Why foreigners? If your bewilderment changes to fear, then begin to do your own research. And then, maybe you will be ready to join the fight, because this is the fight of our lives.

To the patriots who are aware,  I know that I could have also added the government control of food and water, the use of GMO’s etc., to the list of enslavement and extermination variables. However, the essential elements of a police state implementation plan are painfully obvious with what is written here.

The Blue Angel and JFK: One Night in Camelot

This story has three protagonists: Marlene Dietrich, the famous German artist and protagonist of the movie The Blue Angel, the ex-American President John F. Kennedy (“Jack”), and Kenneth Tynan, one of the most notable English theater critics of the second half of the 20th century. The details of it are described in the book “Kenneth Tynan’s diaries”.

Marlene Dietrich had become friends with Kenneth Tynan after he described his bisexual nature by saying, in a comment about her: “Her sex has no preferences.” To which Dietrich replied: “There are so many people trying to guess me and only he understood me”. On one occasion, Dietrich told Tynan about her relationship with President Kennedy.

In the decade of the 30s, Dietrich was a friend of Joseph P. Kennedy, the father of the president. Dietrich’s daughter used to be a swimming partner of the sons of Joseph Kennedy, including John F. Kennedy, who would later become President of the United States. In the fall of 1962, Dietrich was acting in a Washington, D.C. night club.

Bob and Ted Kennedy, Joseph’s children, went to see her perform. The president, of course, did not usually go to night clubs. His absence saddened Marlene Dietrich until she received an invitation to the White House to have a drink with the President the following Saturday at 6 o’clock in the afternoon.

That same day, at 7 pm, Dietrich had to be at the Hotel Statler in Washington, D.C., now called Capitol Hilton, to receive a tribute from the Jewish Veterans of World War II for her help to the Jewish refugees during that war. Despite the scheduling conflict that this represented, Dietrich decided to accept Kennedy’s invitation and arrived at the White House at 6 o’clock in the afternoon.

As soon as she arrived, Dietrich was led by the president’s aide-de-camp to her room where a bottle of German white wine awaited her. “The President recalled that when he dined with you in New York, you told him that this was your favorite wine,” the aide-de-camp told her. Then he poured her a glass of wine and discreetly retired.

At 6.15 o’clock Kennedy appeared. The president gave her a kiss on the cheek, took her to the balcony of the room and started talking about Lincoln. “I hope you’re not in a hurry,” the President told him. “Actually, I am,” said the German actress. Then she explained that 2,000 Jewish war veterans were waiting for her at 7:00 in the afternoon to pay her homage.

“Then we do not have much time,” Kennedy said, looking her in the eye. Dietrich told Tynan that she loves the company of powerful men and to hang their scalp in her hunting belt. “No, Jack, I guess not,” Dietrich told him. Kennedy took her glass and led her through a corridor into the presidential bedroom. Then Marlene Dietrich tells:

“I remembered his back problems – a war wound.” She looked at him and Kennedy was already undressing. Rolls of bandage were being taken from his torso. “Now I am an old woman but at that moment I said to myself: I would like to sleep with the President but for nothing in the world I want to be on top of him.”

Apparently, things went well and, a few moments later, Kennedy fell asleep. “Then,” said Marlene Dietrich, “I looked at my watch and it was 6.50 in the afternoon. I got dressed and shook him while saying: Jack, wake up! There are 2,000 people waiting for me. For God’s sake, get me out of here! Then Kennedy took a towel, put it around his waist as his only dress and took me to an elevator. Kennedy told the elevator operator to ask for a car to take me immediately to the Hotel Statler. Meanwhile, Kennedy was standing with just a towel around his waist as if it were the most natural thing in the world. As I entered the elevator he said: ‘There is only one thing I would like to know: Have you ever slept with my father’? “I then answered: No, Jack, I never did.” ‘Well,’ he told me, ‘this is the only time I got there first.’ The elevator door closed and I never saw him again,” concluded Marlene Dietrich.

The Empire: Now or Never

 Many people I talk to seem to think American foreign policy has something to do with democracy, human rights, national security, or maybe terrorism or freedom, or niceness, or something. It is a curious belief,  Washington being interested in all of them. Other people are simply puzzled, seeing no pattern in America’s international behavior. Really, the explanation is simple.

The reason of course is empire, the desire for which is an ancient and innate part of mankind’s cerebral package. Parthian, Roman, Aztec, Hapsburg, British. It never stops.
When the Soviet Empire collapsed, America appeared poised to establish the first truly world empire. The developed countries were American vassals in effect if not in name, many of them occupied by  American troops: Among others, Europe, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Latin America, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. The US had by far the dominant economy and the biggest military, controlled the IMF, NATO, the dollar, SWIFT, and enjoyed technological superiority.. Russia was in chaos, China a distant smudge  on the horizon.
Powerful groups in Washington, such as PNAC, began angling towed aggrandizement, but the real lunge came with the attack on Iraq. Current foreign policy openly focuses on dominating the planet.  The astonishing thing is that some people don’t notice.
The world runs on oil. Controlling the supply conveys almost absolute power over those countries that do not have their own. (For example, the Japanese would soon be eating each other if their oil were cut off.)  Saudi Arabia is an American protectorate, and, having seen what happened to Iraq, knows that it can be conquered in short order if it gets out of line. The U. S. Navy could easily block tanker traffic from Hormuz to any or all countries.

Note that Iraq and Iran, in addition to their oil, are geostrategically vital  to a world empire. Further, the immensely powerful Jewish presence in the US supports the Mid-East wars for its own purposes. So, of course, does the arms industry. All God’s chillun love the Empire.A major purpose of the destruction of Iraq was to get control of its oil and put American forces on the border of Iran, another oil power. The current attempt to starve the Iranians aims at installing a American puppet government. The ongoing coup in Venezuela seeks control of another vast oil reserve. It will also serve to intimidate the rest of Latin America by showing what can happen to any country that defies Washington. Why are American troops in Nigeria? Guess what Nigeria has.
For the Greater Empire to prevail, Russia and China, the latter a surprise contender, must be neutralized. Thus the campaign to crush Russia by economic sanctions. At the same time Washington  pushes NATO, its sepoy militia, ever eastward, wants to station US forces in Poland, plans a Space Command whose only purpose is to intimidate or bankrupt Russia, drops out of the INF Treaty for the same reasons, and seeks to prevent commercial relations between Russia and the European vassals (e.g., Nordstream II).
China of course is the key obstacle to expanding the Empire. Ergo the trade war. America has to stop China’s economic and technological progress, and stop it  now, as It will not get another chance.
The present moment is an Imperial crunch point. America cannot compete with China commercially  or, increasingly, in technology. Washington knows it. Beijing’s advantages are too great: A huge and growing domestic market, a far larger population of very bright people, a for-profit economy that allows heavy investment both internally and abroad, a stable government that can plan well into the future.
America? It’s  power is more fragile than it may seem. The United States  once dominated economically by making better products at better prices, ran a large trade surplus, and barely had competitors. Today it has deindustrialized, runs a trade deficit with almost everybody, carries an astronomical and uncontrolled national debt, and makes few things that the world can’t get elsewhere, often at lower cost.
Increasingly America’s commercial power is as a consumer, not a producer. Washington tells other countries, “If you don’t do as we say, we won’t buy your stuff.” The indispensable country is an indispensable market. With few and diminishing (though important) exceptions, if it stopped selling things to China, China would barely notice, but if it stopped buying, the Chinese economy would wither. Tariffs, note, are just a way of not buying China’s stuff.
Since the profligate American market is vital to other countries, they often do as ordered. But Asian markets grow. So do Asian industries.
As America’s competitiveness declines, Washington resorts to strong-arm tactics. It has no choice. A prime example is the 5G internet, a Very Big Deal, in which Huawei holds the lead. Unable to provide a better product at a better price, Washington forbids the vassals to deal with Huawei–on pain of not buying their stuff. In what appears to be desperation, the Exceptional Nation has actually made a servile Canada arrest the daughter of Huawei’s founder.
The tide runs against the Empire.  A couple of decades ago, the idea that China could compete technologically with America would have seemed preposterous. Today China advances at startling speed. It is neck and neck with the US in supercomputers, launches moonlanders, leads in 5G internet, does leading work in genetics, designs world-class chipsets (e.g., the Kirin 980 and 920) and smartphones. Another decade or two of this and America will be at the trailing edge.
The American decline is largely self-inflicted. The US chooses its government by popularity contests among provincial lawyers rather than by competence. American education deteriorates under assault by social-justice faddists. Washington spends on the military instead of infrastructure and the economy. It is politically chaotic, its policies changing with every new administration.
The first rule of empire is, “Don’t let your enemies unite.” Instead, Washington has pushed Russia, China, and Iran into a coalition against the Empire. It might have been brighter to have integrated Iran tightly into the Euro-American econosphere, but Israel would not have let America do this. The same approach would have worked with Russia, racially closer to Europe than China and acutely aware of having vast empty Siberia bordering an overpopulated China. By imposing sanctions of adversaries and allies alike, Washington promotes dedollarization and recognition that America is not an ally but a master.
It is now or never. If America’s great but declining power does not subjugate the rest of the world quickly, the rising powers of Asia will swamp it. Even India grows. Either  sanctions subdue the world, or Washington starts a world war. Or America becomes just another country.
To paraphrase a great political thinker, “It’s the Empire, Stupid.”

In one of the most thoughtful Vietnam-era accounts written by a senior military officer, Gen. Bruce Palmer once observed, “With respect to Vietnam, our leaders should have known that the American people would not stand still for a protracted war of an indeterminate nature with no foreseeable end to the U.S. commitment.”


General Palmer thereby distilled into a single sentence the central lesson of Vietnam: to embark upon an open-ended war lacking clearly defined and achievable objectives was to forfeit public support, thereby courting disaster. The implications were clear: never again.

Palmer’s book, which he titled The Twenty-Five Year War, appeared in 1984. Today, exactly 25 years later, we once again find ourselves mired in a “protracted war of an indeterminate nature with no foreseeable end to the U. S. commitment.” It’s déjà vu all over again. How to explain this astonishing turn of events?


In the wake of Vietnam, the officer corps set out to preclude any recurrence of protracted, indeterminate conflict. The Armed Forces developed a new American way of war, emphasizing advanced technology and superior skills. The generals were by no means keen to put these new methods to the test: their preference was for wars to be fought infrequently and then only in pursuit of genuinely vital interests. Yet when war did come, they intended to dispatch any adversary promptly and economically, thereby protecting the military from the possibility of public abandonment. Finish the job quickly and go home: this defined the new paradigm to which the lessons of Vietnam had given rise.

In 1991, Operation Desert Storm seemingly validated that paradigm. Yet events since 9/11, in both Iraq and Afghanistan, have now demolished it. Once again, as in Vietnam, the enemy calls the tune, obliging American soldiers to fight on his terms. Decision has become elusive. Costs skyrocket and are ignored. The fighting drags on. As it does so, the overall purpose of the undertaking—other than of avoiding the humiliation of abject failure—becomes increasingly difficult to discern.


The dirty little secret to which few in Washington will own up is that the United States now faces the prospect of perpetual conflict. We find ourselves in the midst of what the Pentagon calls the “Long War,” a conflict global in scope (if largely concentrated in the Greater Middle East) and expected to outlast even General Palmer’s “Twenty-Five Year War.” The present generation of senior civilians and officers have either forgotten or inverted the lessons of Vietnam, embracing open-ended war as an inescapable reality.


To apply to the Long War the plaintive query that Gen. David Petraeus once posed with regard to Iraq—“Tell me how this ends”—the answer is clear: no one has the foggiest idea. War has become like the changing phases of the moon. It’s part of everyday existence. For American soldiers there is no end in sight.


Yet there is one notable difference between today and the last time the United States found itself mired in a seemingly endless war. During the Vietnam era, even as some young Americans headed off to Indochina to fight in the jungles and rice paddies, many other young Americans back on the home front fought against the war itself. More than any other event of the 1960s, the war created a climate of intense political engagement. Today, in contrast, the civilian contemporaries of those fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan have largely tuned out the Long War. The predominant mood of the country is not one of anger or anxiety but of dull acceptance. Vietnam divided Americans; the Long War has rendered them inert.


To cite General Palmer’s formulation, the citizens of this country at present do appear willing to “stand still” when considering the prospect of war that goes on and on. While there are many explanations for why Americans have disengaged from the Long War, the most important, in my view, is that so few of us have any immediate personal stake in that conflict.


When the citizen-soldier tradition collapsed under the weight of Vietnam, the military rebuilt itself as a professional force. The creation of this all-volunteer military was widely hailed as a great success—well-trained and highly motivated soldiers made the new American way of war work. Only now are we beginning to glimpse the shortcomings of this arrangement, chief among them the fact that today’s “standing army” exists at considerable remove from the society it purports to defend. Americans today profess to “support the troops” but that support is a mile wide and an inch deep. It rarely translates into serious or sustained public concern about whether those same troops are being used wisely and well.


The upshot is that with the eighth anniversary of the Long War upon us, fundamental questions about this enterprise remain unasked. The contrast with Vietnam is striking: back then the core questions may not have gotten straight answers, but at least they got posed.


When testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in April 1971, the young John Kerry famously—or infamously, in the eyes of some—asked, “How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?”


What exactly was that mistake? Well, there were many. Yet the most fundamental lay in President Johnson’s erroneous conviction that the Republic of Vietnam constituted a vital American security interest and that ensuring that country’s survival required direct and massive U.S. military intervention.


Johnson erred in his estimation of South Vietnam’s importance. He compounded that error with a tragic failure of imagination, persuading himself that once in, there was no way out. The United States needed to stay the course in Vietnam, regardless of the cost or consequences.


Now we are, in our own day and in our own way, repeating LBJ’s errors. In his 1971 Senate testimony, reflecting the views of other Vietnam veterans who had turned against the war in which they had fought, Kerry derisively remarked, “we are probably angriest about all that we were told about Vietnam and about the mystical war against communism.”


The larger struggle against communism commonly referred to as the Cold War was both just and necessary. Yet the furies evoked by irresponsible (or cowardly) politicians more interested in partisan advantage than in advancing the common good transformed the Cold War from an enterprise governed by reason into one driven by fear. Beginning with McCarthyism and the post-1945 Red Scare and continuing on through phantasms such as the domino theory, bomber gap, missile gap, and the putative threat to our survival posed by a two-bit Cuban revolutionary, panic induced policies that were reckless, wrong-headed, and unnecessary, with Vietnam being just one particularly egregious example.


The mystical war against communism finds its counterpart in the mystical war on terrorism. As in the 1960s, so too today: mystification breeds misunderstanding and misjudgment. It prevents us from seeing things as they are.


As a direct result, it leads us to exaggerate the importance of places like Afghanistan and indeed to exaggerate the jihadist threat, which falls well short of being existential. It induces flights of fancy so that otherwise sensible people conjure up visions of providing clean water, functioning schools, and good governance to Afghanistan’s 40,000 villages, with expectations of thereby winning Afghan hearts and minds. It causes people to ignore considerations of cost. With the Long War already this nation’s second most expensive conflict, trailing only World War II, and with the federal government projecting trillion-dollar deficits for years to come, how much can we afford and where is the money coming from?


For political reasons the Obama administration may have banished the phrase “global war on terror,” yet the conviction persists that the United States is called upon to dominate or liberate or transform the Greater Middle East. Methods may be shifting, with the emphasis on pacification giving way to militarized nation-building. Priorities may be changing, Af-Pak now supplanting Iraq as the main effort. But by whatever name, the larger enterprise continues. The president who vows to “change the way Washington works” has not yet exhibited the imagination needed to conceive of an alternative to the project that his predecessor began.

The urgent need is to de-mystify that project, which was from the outset a misguided one. Just as in the 1960s we possessed neither the wisdom nor the means needed to determine the fate of Southeast Asia, so today we possess neither the wisdom nor the means necessary to determine the fate of the Greater Middle East. To persist in efforts to do so—as the Obama administration appears intent on doing in Afghanistan —will simply replicate on an even greater scale mistakes like those that Bruce Palmer and John Kerry once rightly decried.

America: ‘Indispensable Nation’ No More

Rather than seeing 'far into the future,' American elites have struggled to discern what might happen next week.

“Only those of us who were born under Queen Victoria,” wrote Ronald Knox, “know what it feels like to assume, without questioning, that England is permanently top nation, that foreigners do not matter, and that if worst comes to the worst, Lord Salisbury will send a gunboat.” Knox offered this trenchant observation, redolent with irony and perhaps tinged with regret, not as a policymaker or strategic thinker, but from the vantage point of a clergyman. From the 1920s through the 1950s, Monsignor Knox was the most famous and influential Catholic priest in all of Great Britain. As such, he entertained a distinct perspective on what actually qualifies as permanent and what merely offers the appearance.

While perhaps using different terms—our preference is for dispatching nuclear aircraft carriers rather than gunboats—Americans born after World War II came into adulthood imbued with precisely the same sentiment about their own country. From the mid-1940s onward, the primacy of the United States was assumed as a given. History had rendered a verdict: we—not the Brits and certainly not the Germans, French, or Russians—were number one, and, more importantly, were meant to be. That history’s verdict might be subject to revision was literally unimaginable, especially to anyone making a living in or near Washington, D.C.

If doubts remained on that score, the end of the Cold War removed them. With the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of communism, politicians, journalists, and policy intellectuals threw themselves headlong into a competition over who could explain best just how unprecedented, how complete, and how wondrous was the global preeminence of the United States.

Choose your own favorite post-Cold War paean to American power and privilege. Mine remains Madeleine Albright’s justification for some now-forgotten episode of armed intervention, uttered 20 years ago when American wars were merely occasional (and therefore required some nominal justification) rather then perpetual (and therefore requiring no justification whatsoever).

“If we have to use force,” Secretary of State Albright announced on morning television in February 1998, “it is because we are America. We are the indispensable nation. We stand tall. We see further into the future.”

Back then, it was Albright’s claim to American indispensability that stuck in my craw. Yet as a testimony to ruling class hubris, the assertion of indispensability pales in comparison to Albright’s insistence that “we see further into the future.”

In fact, from February 1998 down to the present, events have time and again caught Albright’s “we” napping. The 9/11 terrorist attacks and the several unsuccessful wars of choice that followed offer prime examples. But so too did Washington’s belated and inadequate recognition of the developments that actually endanger the wellbeing of 21st-century Americans, namely climate change, cyber threats, and the ongoing reallocation of global power prompted by the rise of China. Rather than seeing far into the future, American elites have struggled to discern what might happen next week. More often than not, they get even that wrong.

Like some idiot savant, Donald Trump understood this. He grasped that the establishment’s formula for militarized global leadership applied to actually existing post-Cold War circumstances was spurring American decline. Certainly other observers, including contributors to this publication, had for years been making the same argument, but in the halls of power their dissent counted for nothing.

Yet in 2016, Trump’s critique of U.S. policy resonated with many ordinary Americans and formed the basis of his successful run for the presidency. Unfortunately, once Trump assumed office, that critique did not translate into anything even remotely approximating a coherent strategy. President Trump’s half-baked formula for Making America Great Again—building “the wall,” provoking trade wars, and elevating Iran to the status of existential threat—is, to put it mildly, flawed, if not altogether irrelevant. His own manifest incompetence and limited attention span don’t help.

So the nation today finds itself in an interesting predicament. The media elites that drive the national conversation have reached the conclusion that nothing surpasses in importance Trump’s removal from office. The midterm elections that returned the Democrats to power in the House have heightened expectations of the Trump era coming to an end. This has injected into the early maneuvering for the 2020 presidential election a palpable sense of urgency. Sensing opportunity, candidates rush to join the competition. The field promises to be a crowded one.

Among progressives, the presence of women, people of color, and at least one gay person in the race suggests that something of epic importance is about to unfold. Maybe so. But here’s one thing that’s likely to be missing: any serious assessment of the costs and consequences of recent policies formulated pursuant to the insistence that the United States is, as Monsignor Knox put it, “permanently top nation.”

The gatekeepers of the orthodoxy, united in denouncing Trump, will not permit any such assessment. So the coming campaign will no doubt be entertaining. In some respects, it may also be enlightening. But in all likelihood, it will leave untouched the basic premises of U.S. policy—the bloated military budget, the vast empire of bases, the penchant for interventionism, all backed by the absurd claims of American exceptionalism voiced by the likes of Madeleine Albright and her kindred spirits.

When Ronald Knox was born, Queen Victoria presided over an empire on which the sun never set. By the time he died during the reign of Victoria’s great-great-granddaughter, that empire had vanished. Funny how quickly these things can happen.

Bill Gates is fond of using his bully pulpit to talk about “miracles” and “magic.” Gates has featured one or both words in nearly all of his annual wrap-up letters for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017), most often in reference to the Gates Foundation’s outsized financial and ideological support for global vaccine programs. As Gates says, “In the same way that during my Microsoft career I talked about the magic of software, I now spend my time talking about the magic of vaccines.”

Gates’s words give us an immediate clue that he is engaging in his own brand of magical thinking—which social scientists define as “illogical causal reasoning.” How else to explain his simplistic endorsement of vaccines as a miraculous intervention with unmitigated benefits and no down side? The Gates Foundation’s global spreadsheet appears to have no room to tally the massive flood of vaccine injuries afflicting children worldwide, despite abundant evidence that this damage is standing the vaccine risk-benefit calculus on its head and turning childhood into an extended round of Russian roulette.

In a widely cited 2014 blog post on the “miracle of vaccines,” Gates expressed enthusiasm about the “inspiring” data on vaccines and the “fantastic” and “phenomenal” progress being made to expand vaccine coverage. There is one major problem with Gates’ professed reliance on “data,” which is that the philanthropist ignores fundamental historical facts governing infectious disease and vaccine timelines.

Vital statistics data reveal that in the U.S. and elsewhere, fatalities from diseases such as scarlet fever—in the absence of any vaccine—had become quite rare by the mid-20th century. Mortality from infectious diseases such as measles and whooping cough (pertussis) also had declined rapidly, well before the introduction of the corresponding vaccines (see Figure 1). A meticulous review of U.S. mortality data from 1900–1973 concluded:

“Medical measures [such as vaccines] contributed little to the overall decline in mortality in the United States since about 1900—having in many instances been introduced several decades after a marked decline had already set in.”

The same researchers, in another article, chastised the medical establishment for its misplaced confidence in “magic bullets” (there is that word “magic” again!). Instead, if the decline in infectious disease incidence and mortality in the last century represented any kind of “miracle,” the phenomenon was, by all honest accounts, attributable to classic and long-term public health measures such as better sanitation and, especially, improved nutrition. A study of 20th-century mortality trends in Italy found a significant association between increased caloric intake and declining mortality, reflecting “progress in average nutritional status, lifestyle quality, socioeconomic level and hygienic conditions.” Moreover, mortality dropped most sharply in Italy’s youngest age groups—who were “probably the most sensible to the changes in nutrition and wellness.” Even early 20th-century epidemiologists who were inclined to give some credit to vaccines recognized that other factors were at play, including changes in “human resistance and bacterial quality” as well as factors yet to be determined.

Oh Miracle, Where Art Thou?

Even if one leaves 20th-century vital statistics behind, there is a glaring piece of evidence that gives the lie to Bill Gates’ disingenuous assertions about vaccine miracles: vaccines are not actually making or keeping children healthy. Instead, in the U.S. (where children are the most highly vaccinated in the world), over half of all young people have a chronic illness—a trend that coincides with the expansion of the nation’s vaccine schedule. Similar patterns of chronic illness are emerging worldwide, including for potentially life-threatening conditions such as food allergies and asthma.

The World Mercury Project’s Campaign to Restore Child Health has been documenting parents’ first-hand accounts of serious adverse outcomes experienced by their children following vaccination. These testimonials, which represent the tip of the iceberg, cover a panoply of disorders that were rare or even unheard of a few decades ago:

• Thirteen percent of U.S. children are in special education.
• One in six American children has a developmental disorder such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
• Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) affects nearly 11% of American children.
• One in 20 children under the age of five has epilepsy.
• Peanut allergies are the most common cause of food-related death.
• Women who receive flu and Tdap vaccines during pregnancy are at greater risk of miscarriages and other problems.
• Pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal or other infections (PANDAS or PANS) may affect as many as 1 in 200 children in the U.S., including up to 25% of children diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and tic disorders.
• Sensory processing disorder (SPD) often co-occurs with ADHD and ASD.
• In the U.S., the infant mortality rate, including from sudden infant death syndrome(SIDS), is double the rate in many other high-income countries. In Africa, a comparative study in Guinea-Bissau found that infant mortality was at least twice as high (10%-11%) in children who received the diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (DTP) and polio vaccines as in children who did not receive the vaccines (4%-5%).

Cui Bono?

A recent German report on global philanthropy observes that modern philanthropy has its roots, first and foremost, in business tycoons’ self-interested desire to shield income from taxation while “garner[ing] prestige and influence in the U.S. and world affairs.” The report’s authors note that large foundations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation exert influence not just through their “enormous resources” but also “by shaping development concepts and policies.” The Gates Foundation—established in 2000 with an initial endowment of $42.9 billion and amplified by an additional $30 billion from Warren Buffet in 2006—has become the world’s leading global health player as well as the largest non-state funder of the World Health Organization (WHO). As a result of the Gates Foundation’s “tremendous agenda-setting power,” the global health community designated 2010–2020 as the Decade of Vaccines; developed a Global Vaccine Action Plan; and created the public-private Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI Alliance), which receives almost one-fourth of its funding from the Gates Foundation.

While Gates has rhapsodized that vaccines are a fantastic investment, the vaccine industry, in fact, is a primary beneficiary of Gates Foundation largesse. According to the German analysts, for example, the Gates Foundation’s support of the GAVI Alliance has incentivized manufacturers to increase production of specific vaccines. These incentives have resulted in payments of over $1 billion to Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Some reporters have described this arrangement as “a leg-up for pharmaceutical companies ‘seeking to expand into faster-growing, lower-income countries.’” However, as the German report notes, the non-governmental organization Doctors without Borders (MSF) has questioned the GAVI Alliance’s overall impact on vaccine affordability, stating that “the cost to fully immunize a child was 68 times more expensive in 2014 than it was in 2001.”

The Gates Foundation also has increased its direct support for the biotechnology industry, which is of considerable relevance to the vaccine industry due to the rapidly increasing use of biotech in modern vaccine manufacturing. Recent articles have pointed out, moreover, that the Gates Foundation routinely pays public relations firms to manipulate scientific decision-making in favor of the risky genetic engineering technologies that the Foundation supports.

What these observations make apparent is that  Bill Gates’s vaccine philanthropy indeed represents a “miracle”—but the miracle’s beneficiaries are the corporations and stockholders who are laughing all the way to the bank, and certainly not the children and adults around the world who are bearing the brunt of unsafe vaccines. Dr. Arata Kochi, the WHO’s former director of malaria research, chose to call a spade a spade in 2008 when he described the Gates Foundation as a cartel that suppresses diversity of scientific opinion and is “accountable to no one other than itself.”
