Outlaws or Sheeple — Are Those the Only Two Choices Left Americans?

I remember my Great Uncle D.L. telling family tales about his Grandfather and his brothers.

He said that they came all around being outlaws.

The situation they found themselves in didn’t give them too much choice but to fight for their survival.

Their Daddy was killed in a duel over a landline.

Their Mother refused the attentions of the local men who would have liked to take over the land her husband had left to her. On top of that insult to the community, she set her slaves free in 1850 as she believed that slavery was an abomination.

That act of conscience cost her two sons, one fourteen, one fifteen, to a lynching by the “Home Guard” during the War Between the States. (Remarkably similar to the term “Homeland Security.”, the “Home Guard” were locals who were unfit for service in the army. They were pressed into a group of “protectors” of the community and the women and children left at home while the men went to war.)

From that branch of the family tree, five generations later, we have continued the tradition of refusing to cow down to authority. We have always embraced independent thinking and doing. We called it true American Spirit.

Seems the current administration and its henchmen have another term for it. They call it “domestic terrorism”.

Wow, the USA has come to a pretty pass when standing up for your God-given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is terrorism.

The lessons learned at my Great Uncle’s knee would be grounds for turning all of the descendants of my remarkable forbears into the government as criminals.

In the days of Hitler Youth and Junior Gestapo, members were encouraged to turn in their parents for anti-regime talk and actions.http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/hitleryouth/hj-prelude.htm

So as a parent, if you teach your children the values that were once considered desirable, you could be breeding a terrorist.

Standing up to bullies could be considered terrorism.

Expressing a strong opinion could be considered terrorism.

What about pledging allegiance to our American flag? What about love of country? What about thinking for yourself? Heaven forbid, ask questions and challenge authority.

What about belief in God? What about Christianity? More and more, Christians’ rights are being denied as special interest groups or alternative religions are given free rein to flourish. No one is allowed to “offend” these groups as they have a “right” to practice unmolested.

So what is it to be, my fellow Americans? Shall we be outlaws or sheeple?

I vote outlaw.
