The Elimination of Christianity in the West Brings Disrespect for Life

Left’s campaign to put an end to the Christian ethic

The Elimination of Christianity in the West Brings Disrespect for Life

Abortion activists are taking the next, logical step in their justification of abortion by agreeing that, yes, abortion kills a human baby, but… “so what?” It is just the next logical step in abortion apologia that results from the end of the Christian philosophical influence in society. But we don’t see that end affecting just abortion. We see it throughout society.

Whether leftists like the idea or not, the United States of America was conceived as a Christian nation. Not a Catholic one, not a Muslim one, not a Jewish one and not a secular one, but a Christian nation built solidly on the Christian ethos. Every state initially formed with a particular flavor of Protestantism as a state sanctioned religion and our entire culture was fueled by the twin influences of Christian philosophy and the Scottish Enlightenment.

It is certainly true that our form of government is essentially secular in that it is not guided or controlled by any particular religion, but the ethics underlying those governments where heavily informed by Christian ethics.

The left, though, has been angling to destroy the underlying Christian ethos since the turn of the last century as academia and the left became imbued with communist and socialist propaganda.

The efforts to destroy the bedrock principles upon which the nation was built began under the destroyer of our education system, John Dewey, who, along with famed “History” professor Charles Beard, worked to tear down America’s founding principles and replace them with socialist-inspired anti-American ideals. (And they succeeded, by the way.)

With the left working so hard to destroy the Christian influence in our American ethics, we have finally gotten to the point where there is simply no respect for life. Take for instance the admission from abortion extremist Mary Elizabeth Williams who recently pointed out that it is absolutely true that abortion kills a human baby… “but so what?”

In 2013, Williams wrote a piece she entitled, “So What if Abortion Ends Life?” and in that piece she came to the logical extreme of liberal thought saying, “Yes, babies in the womb are human beings, but so what?”http://www.salon.com/2013/01/23/so_what_if_abortion_ends_life/

This is the ultimate logical position that a liberal supporting abortion must end up taking. Medical science has gotten so advanced that we can see detailed images of every stage of human development in the womb making it harder and harder to determine when that “unviable lump of cells” becomes a human being. On top of that projects like human genome mapping and other high genetic sciences are showing that our essence goes back much farther than a mere gestating fetus making untenable any claim that our most basic cells are not human.

The sanctity for life is based in an individualist’s Christian ethos. It isn’t a collectivist ideal. Muslims have no respect for life because the individual is meaningless. Though certainly less pronounced, it’s the same for Catholics and Jews. These religions are far more collectivist than the individualistic Protestant ethos upon which the US was founded.

Christians are taught that the individual is of central importance, not the collective. Christians practice “a believer’s” religion, not one you are somehow born into or one that is controlled from a small set of priests.

But this ethical underpinning has to be eliminated to justify full government control and abortion on demand. And with Mary Elizabeth Williams nudging the abortion lobby toward the idea that killing an admittedly healthy human baby in the womb is not a big deal we are seeing the left edge ever more towards the complete disregard for human life necessary for full government control.

Europe is farther down this road than the US. Take for instance the case of teenager Will Cornicki who brutally murdered his school teacher in class and in front of his classmates.

The teen has absolutely no remorse. In fact, he has justified his actions with a typical Darwinian logic.

Here are a few selected retorts the teen made in court to explain what he did:

I wasn’t in shock, I was happy. I had a sense of pride. I still do.
I know it’s uncivilized but I know it’s incredibly instinctual and human. Past generations of life, killing is a route of survival.
It’s kill or be killed. I did not have a choice. It was kill her or suicide.
I know the victim’s family will be upset but I don’t care. In my eyes, everything I’ve done is fine and dandy.
This boy has fully inculcated the left’s campaign to put an end to the Christian ethic.

It is what the left has in store for all of us if we let it continue.
