MEN OF PEACE
"I don't know how to save the world. I don't have the answers or The Answer. I hold no secret knowledge as to how to fix the mistakes of generations past and present. I only know that without compassion and respect for all Earth's inhabitants, none of us will survive - nor will we deserve to." Leonard Peltier

I see a new dawn for America

I see a new dawn for America

The Sun Also Rises

By Sarge

“Whilst the last members were signing [the Constitution], Doctor Franklin, looking towards the Presidents chair, at the back of which a rising sun happened to be painted, observed to a few members near him, that painters had found it difficult to distinguish in their art, a rising, from a setting, sun. I have, said he, often and often, in the course of the session, and the vicissitudes of my hopes and fears as to its issue, looked at that behind the President, without being able to tell whether it was rising or setting; but now at length, I have the happiness to know, that it is a rising, and not a setting sun. Franklin, Benjamin”  (Source: BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, debates in the Constitutional Convention, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, September 17, 1787.James Madison, Journal of the Federal Convention, ed. E. H. Scott, p. 763)

My buddy Bill sent me a photo proving indistinguishable from a setting or rising sun and the above quote sprang to mind. I thank you Bill for doing so as sunrise was becoming evident here in Louisiana. Bill lives in Florida as I once did. So, in this sense he gets the fresh breath of God’s light a wee bit sooner than I.

With all of the indignities heaped upon our Constitution and the regular abrogation of our rights by unscrupulous scalawags such as Obama, Reid and Pelosi, (as well as their mirror images in Boehner and his cronies) it comes to mind (again); history is cyclic and as such, repetitive in its nature. Great men and women are continually born, nurtured, educated and released into our national environment to seek office and, if they truly are great, seek to be of service to us and our fellows from a reservoir of integrity, intelligence and faith developed by their parents a, guardians and communities.

While I agree with Hillary Clinton as often as I drive sewing needles into my eye for fun and pleasure I recognize she wrote a book once titled It takes a village”. For her it was a publishing coup allowing for a bazillion dollar advance on sales. But, the title was developed from her having seen communal efforts to nurture, guide and develop the upbringing of children in certain African societies. If you take the one path in understanding the metaphor (as she did) you’ll understand the village represents government and its ability to enshroud a child and develop the child according to state standards and ideologies designed to project little droids and ‘bots’” capable of accepting subservience to the state into society.

I choose to take the road now less traveled.
I believe a community based on integrity and constancy as indicated in its ethics and morals developed from their faith can produce a citizen ready to accept the moral imperatives of the parents and the society in which he or she lives. The key element in the quest is faith. Faith in something or someone (?) greater than one’s self is imperative. Faith allows the individual to have confidence there is something or someone can help guide us toward our betterment and a quality of existence beyond mere survival. Faith is the anchor a person uses to understand we’re not alone. Faith attaches us to home through its connection to the heart.

Faith in this corporeal world and America, in my mind has been under assault by the intelligentsia since just before Moses descended from Sinai. Faith stands against the winds, mental dust and abrasive sands of egotistical academics believing because they have no sight, smell, touch, taste or hearing allowing them to unquestionably understand the presence of a higher power; they take it unto themselves to be the “highest power”. Placement at the top of the evolutionary food chain doesn’t make you right; it merely means you can appreciate the bad oral hygiene of the lion will eat you if you try using your immutable logic and reasoning with it when it’s hungry and you’re on the menu du jour.

We have an alleged cabal of intelligentsia in our government now. It’s got at its head a man expressing the tenets of faith while engendering none in his fellow man and those he lauds his politically motivated acumen over. Faith is a buzzword cynically called to mind at strategic moments and with strategic placement of the word to calm the fears he created with his prodigious but false oratory. He proclaims faith in him as the replacement for the emptiness his predecessors planted in the hearts of the weak, the homeless, the poor, the disenfranchised and the morally insolvent as they sought nourishment from the thin, watered down gruel of state subsidies and welfare handouts.

Faith is what emboldens the spirit of advancement and forward movement as an individual and as a member of a society. When you have faith in a higher power, you know that higher power has faith in you to do what is right, just and proper as opposed to evidencing your self-serving disloyalty to the teachings of your forebears and those who expect your moral and ethical leadership to serve as an exemplar of the rewards of constancy, consistency and courage in public service and citizenship.

For me the pure and simple knowledge Obama and his cronies will soon be out of office gives me hope for and in that change. For me he’s not the lion he thinks he is. He’s not even a lame duck.  He’s more the mangy mongrel suffering the terminal stages of his diseased and infectious existence needing to be politically put down so as to end OUR suffering.

For me the sun is rising and in the glow of the faith guides me daily, I see a new dawn for America.

Thanks for listening
