Obama’s New Food Czar Wants Gov’t To Decide What You Are Allowed to Eat

Obama’s New Food Czar Wants Gov’t To Decide What You Are Allowed to Eat

Like all extreme socialists, Obama’s new food czar thinks that government should completely control all aspects of food from its production and is dissemination, even to what is allowed to be advertised and what you are allowed to eat.

Recently the Obama’s personal chef, Sam Kass, resigned his position and left the White House. Kass was not just a chef, though. He was also the White House’s senior adviser for nutrition policy. On top of that he the director of Mrs. Obama’s anti-childhood obesity campaign, “Let’s Move.”

So, Obama had several slots to fill at once with his new food czar. So, he and Michelle have picked one Debra Eschmeyer to take on the role of director of “Let’s Move.”

Eschmeyer, who founded the FoodCorps service program that was designed to teach school cafeteria workers about nutrition, calls herself a “food justice activist.” She recently explained what she means by that title.http://legalinsurrection.com/2015/01/good-news-america-our-kids-have-a-new-food-czar/

“I was an editor of [the book] Food Justice so I spent several years thinking about the definition,” she said. “Food justice seeks to ensure that the benefits and risks of where, what, and how food is grown, produced, transported, distributed, accessed, and eaten are shared fairly.”

Here is how Food Justice, the book mentioned above, describes its mission:

A food justice framework ensures that the benefits and risks of how food is grown and processed, transported, distributed, and consumed are shared equitably. Gottlieb and Joshi recount the history of food injustices and describe current efforts to change the system, including community gardens and farmer training in Holyoke, Massachusetts, youth empowerment through the Rethinkers in New Orleans, farm-to-school programs across the country, and the Los Angeles school system’s elimination of sugary soft drinks from its cafeterias.

Granted that is what the authors of the book said, a book to which Eschmeye is only a contributor, but following are some of her own ideas in her own words.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/debra-eschmeyer/healthy-eating-kids-_b_1968013.html

Every child deserves a lunch that is healthy, that tastes good, and that he or she is eager to eat. But these preferences aren’t just inborn; they’re shaped by the environment in which our children are raised. The typical elementary student receives 3.4 hours of nutrition education in a year of schooling. When those same kids go home, they watch an average of ten food-related ads each day, nearly all of them promoting products that are high in fat, sugar or sodium.

The reality is that if we want kids to be excited to find something healthier than fast food in their school cafeteria, we have to do more than change what’s on the lunch tray.

Notice what this left-wing wacko is saying here. She wants government to go far beyond merely regulating food safety, but wants government to fully control all aspects of our food production. She wants to ban advertising for things SHE deems unfit to eat, she wants government to control what is grown, how it is processed, and how kids are exposed to it all.

You, my good friends, are all too stupid to understand what is good for you and you need big government nannies like her to make your decisions for you. Besides, ITS FOR THE CHILDREN, dontcha know?

Of course, some even bigger questions are why there is a need for this position at all and just how much tax money is being wasted on this extra Constitutional nonsense?
