Great Interview with Katy Whelan On the Elimination of All Food Choice for American Citizens
Great Interview with Katy Whelan On the Elimination of All Food Choice for American Citizens
food shortage
Great interview with the Health Reporter for The Common Sense Show, Katy Whelan. In the following 2o minute interview Katy describes how your food choices and America’s ability to privately grow food are being severely limited and that this could have a devastating impact on your health. The interview was conducted by Dave Hodges.
Listen to Katy Whelan.

Trade Agreements Weaken Health and Environmental Protections and Destroy Regulatory Standards
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2015/06/09/dangers-global-corporate-domination.aspx
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) are largely focused on creating “regulatory harmonization” among participating nations. Basically, they seek to set up the same regulatory infrastructure in all countries involved in the agreements. This means participating countries must have similar if not identical (aka “harmonized”) rules and regulations for food safety, chemicals, GMOs, intellectual property, medicines, and finance, for example. The ones benefiting from this “harmonization” are the multinational corporations that came up with and negotiated the rules in the first place.
They want a regulatory system that makes it as easy for them to operate across borders as possible. For example, if their product is approved for sale in one country, it’s automatically approved in the partnering countries. Or, if they’re granted a patent in one country, their patent is protected under the agreement in other countries as well. The problem with harmonizing regulations across borders is that, as a rule, the common standard ends up being the lowest possible standard. Repeatedly, we’ve seen that trade agreements push regulations down, rather than up; weakening rather than strengthening environmental and health protections.
Many European countries worry that these trade agreements may undermine or circumvent many of their established laws against GMO’s and other American food practices, such as disinfecting chicken in chlorine and the routine use of hormones in beef production, neither of which is permitted in the EU.1
This is one more example of how this TPP trade deal is all but destroying our ability to have any control over the quality and safety of the foods we eat. And as we learned last week, the quality and safety of the medicines we take.
What else will come out about this secret trade deal from hell???
The Truth Behind The USDA’s ‘Non-GMO Label’ Revealed
Let’s make sure the USDA doesn’t ruin GMO labeling!
http://naturalsociety.com/the-truth-behind-the-usdas-non-gmo-label-revealed/
USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has, for a long time now, offered a Process Verified non-GMO label to food manufacturers. USDA’s website, states it “provides companies that supply agricultural products or services the opportunity to assure customers of their ability to provide consistent quality products or services,” with a Process Verified Seal. But this only requires companies to submit internal documentation on their goods or services – there is no outside inquiry into any claims they make.
So, essentially, the USDA certifies a company’s own internal practices based on their paper trail. For the first time, a company has sought the USDA’s Process Verified Label in connection for a product it sells, with a desire to claim non-GMO status.
There is no USDA non-GMO status that is externally vetted.
THIS is disturbing!!
A company could claim anything they want to about their product based solely on their own internal documentation.
Natural Society launched a petition to keep the USDA in check. Posted with the headline “Don’t Let the USDA Ruin GMO Labeling,” we have already received around a thousand signatures demanding the agency bring in real testing protocols for their supposed labels.
An excerpt from the petition reads:
“The USDA has officially announced that it will soon be rolling out their new ‘Non-GMO labels’ worldwide. This is an organization that has admittedly given Monsanto ‘fast track approval‘ with less safety testing for their latest GMO crops. Now is the time to hold the USDA accountable for their Non-GMO labels, and to demand that the agency recruits the help of independent scientific agencies to verify the accuracy of these labels.”
THE last two stories are beginning to materialize a common theme in our society as a whole. corporations are ruling industry and Gov agencies are nothing more than lap dogs to these corp. The functions of Gov oversight over private corps has been reversed and it’s all about the money.
My question would be, why are we pouring billions of dollars into Gov agencies tasked with safeguarding the very people that pay them to do so? Is it time to abolish Federal oversight agencies? It’s not always practical for most but this should be incentive to grow your own, hunt your own and demand freedom from Gov agency rules on the most basic of human rights. Providing our own source of food.
If you step back and look at what has been happening over the decades its a two prong approach. Regulate independence and encourage conformity! A recipe for slavery…
FDA pushing new regulations to shut down small-scale, artisanal food producers
http://www.naturalnews.com/050055_FDA_regulations_artisanal_food_family_farms.html
(NaturalNews) The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is attempting to sidestep an amendment to the infamous Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) that was originally intended to exempt small food producers from having to comply with excessively burdensome food safety protocols appropriate only for large factory producers.
The proposed rule would subject all small food producers who don’t produce their food on a farm to the same onerous paperwork and compliance requirements outlined in FSMA for large-scale producers. Many of these small-scale producers would likely go out of business as a result, further widening the reach of the factory food industry.
“In interpreting the amended FSMA, FDA determined that only food producedon a farm and then sold locally at a farmer’s market or roadside stand would qualify” under the Tester-Hagan amendment, which was enacted after FSMA’s passage with much resistance from the factory food industry.
Proposed FDA rule would eat up half the profits of small-scale food producers, bankrupting many of them
For producers making under $500,000 annually in revenues, abiding by these requirements would eat up as much as half of their profits while doing nothing to make food safer
Small-scale producers, after all, aren’t the ones driving the disease outbreaks and other food scares that result in people getting sick and millions of animals having to be slaughtered — it’s large-scale producers and their filthy factory farms that are responsible for this!
It was the smaller local chicken farms that had ZERO bird fly infection in their populations!!! Over 40,000,000 birds were destroyed.
Again we see another federal agency not doing what it was designed to do and seems to puppeted by mega corps to do the dirty work of using laws and rules to kill the competition. This isn’t safe guarding food. It looks to me like the big food corps want the smaller more accountable food companies to choke to death and leave the mega food corps with all the spoils.
