MEN OF PEACE
"I don't know how to save the world. I don't have the answers or The Answer. I hold no secret knowledge as to how to fix the mistakes of generations past and present. I only know that without compassion and respect for all Earth's inhabitants, none of us will survive - nor will we deserve to." Leonard Peltier

US military veterans feel abandoned by their government

US military veterans feel abandoned by their government

Abandoned by the very nation they risked their life for, and they're still willing to fight for it. Thousands of American military veterans will sleep in the streets tonight.

Many of them say that they're government could have helped them avoid homelessness.

Beyond San Diego’s picturesque skyline lies an ugly truth. A wounded military community neglected by the very nation they fought to defend.

“I was physically and mentally able to defend my country and my men and I came back for what, to be medicated and pushed to the side. That’s morally and ethically unjust,”

“It’s a monster that we created with our veterans.”

“I think the government has abandoned a lot of people, not just the service people. I think the government abandoned everybody.”

These are just some of the troubled voices coming from a growing number of homeless veterans and the words I have heard with my own ears in my contact with them un-like other programs or projects I go out into the streets and seek out those lost and left to fend for themselves alone and in many ways afraid .

This particular weekend,We are going to give out Blankest and warm jackets we have gathered and what has been donated by those who care and see the issues we are dealing with we are a 100% non-profit  that helps thousands of homeless vets get back some of their dignity and to see that they are not alone and we have not forgotten them as our government and many of the people have .

Many of these vets will get assistance in housing, clothing, and work and even a little entertainment.

At Present we have not as much to give as we would like and can only help so many as donations and people assisting well to be honest has been a no go since the first of the year the weather is extremely cold in this part of the country and it is our hopes we can help at the least 200 people with warm coats and some with warm underwear we will feed as many has possible and we will feed as many has possible were expecting to go through half a ton of meat, just to feed these veterans it’s a big deal. Some of these veterans haven’t had a square meal in weeks. And unfortunately, once they leave here, they won’t have another one for a very long time.

“It’s kinda depressing, but a veteran knows how to adapt to survive,”

Myself and my wife are veterans hoping to get our  life back on track for our someday grandchildren.  I remembers returning from the war and the Veterans Administration trying to medicate Myself instead of addressing the real problem.

I suspects their motivation.

“Politics … politics. This country takes care of everybody else but their own. And it shouldn’t be like that,”  I feel  It’s pitiful.”

It’s a pattern that has continued for the newer generation of vets.

“I went to the veteran’s administration for treatment a year after I was discharged and I was feeling suicidal, I was refused treatment actually,”

I think history is repeating itself; that the US government has not learned anything from the Vietnam War and that the ongoing conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq will only get worse.

“It’s scary, I don’t want to be around here in 10 years, this place will probably be wall to wall,”

“Active duty military in general needs to do a better job helping people to transitioning people into civilian life,”
We started the veterans project in 2013 and have mainly funded it ourselves and through what donations are given it has been suggested that we seek some form of government aid and this is not an issue we will even consider as so many that have tried to help and feed others have been stopped or arrested for doing so,So we @ veterans Project have made the choice  To protect our independence, and will take no government funds. we have relied on volunteers and donors to pitch in and help where the government has failed. We think a growing bureaucracy and a lack of coordination are keeping veterans from getting the help they need.

Government Alone Can't Take Care Of Our Veterans

"One organization or one government can't support the entire veteran population in the way that they need — not after over a dozen years of war with thousands of military families sacrificing,"

"But if more people pull together and take a more active approach, we'll get a lot more done."

"We have to change our thinking,"

"We can't expect our government to be the whole part and parcel of being the caretaker of men and women in the military."

Supporting the troops is not a political position, but a community responsibility. It comes down to awareness. Because less than one percent of the American population serves in the military, the majority of the country isn't attuned to veterans' everyday needs."That's a staggering statistic when you think that less than two million people defend over 300 million people,"

"So naturally there's going to be a massive part of the population that's going to have no clue as to what military service is about and what the families go through... The military serves in war, and you go to the mall."

Hundreds of non-governmental agencies provide various veterans services and all can use contributions of time, money or goods.I advocates for compulsory military or Peace Corps service for young people as a means of raising awareness of veterans' contributions."If you do that, in less than 10 years, you've created a whole generation of Americans who've had a shared experience of contributing to this country,"

While it is acknowledges the approach might be radical, the result would be a greater understanding of the sacrifices made by service members and their families. But it doesn't have to be so extreme. Just thinking about making a gesture of thanks is a good first step,

These weathered war heroes have their own take on it.

“ we helped a lance corporal who has no legs. when someone has to come to you for help? You give it to him,”

“More people are going to say, screw this, this is wrong and we got to do something about it and instead of doing something criminal or rioting about it, they’re gonna’ walk up to a camera and get on the internet and start an insurgency that needs to get started,”

Iraq war veteran and radio host Adam Kokesh argued that veteran homelessness is a symptom, caused by both from the individual and the government. and on that issue he would be correct

“It’s a symptom of what it means, some of the more typical consequences of being a veteran, dealing with post traumatic stress disorder, drug or alcohol abuse, or just generally coming out of a job like that and not having nay skills that are relent in the rest of the economy. So, those are things that are contributing factors that lead to homelessness,”

Kokesh argued that it is bigger than a simple failure by the government to care for veterans. The symptoms need to be targeted in order to address the overall problem.

The responsibilities between civilian and military like are dramatically different, there is an adjustment period between military and civilian life, . There is a need for a support system following the return home to help veterans readjust to prevent the underlying causes of veteran homelessness,

we at the veterans Project Take it a step further and seek to educate and inform not only our veterans but the public at large to the issues of violence and its effects to the human mind and soul.

A little about us...VETERANS PROJECT
We run this non-sectarian, non-partisan organization to ignite discussion on our world and in our communities, to educate our world about the injustice of aggressive violence.

We believe that in order to reach out to our peers most effectively, we cannot stand on religious arguments alone, and we cannot adhere entirely to one political side in our currently polarized culture. We believe that the consistent life ethic is not for any one religious group or for any one political position, but rather for everyone dedicated to human rights, life and dignity.

No matter your reason for believing in the inherent value of human life, we hope you can join us, and through our efforts we can together endeavor to make violence unthinkable -
-

- to make it history!

YOU CAN BE A PARTNER
FOR PEACE
AND ALL LIFE

All funds raised from this campaign or any donations given go to Food .clothing help with housing ,child care medical expenses if there are any and at times many veterans will not go to the VA as the VA has already set them aside on more than one occasion and they have lost faith In that system of Government , we also help with Identification cards and transportation to and from work.

For me and my wife and the few other veterans that assist us in this indeavour for change Serving our country was a life-changing experience for us. It was during those years that we realized the importance of commitment, dedication, honor, and discipline. we have never laughed so much; nor have we ever prayed so much. we made life-long friends. The leaders and heroes we served with helped shape me into the men and women we are today.  we feel honored to have been a part of such a great tradition and grateful to others who, have walked the same path.

Today many Americans their total cluelessness regarding certain positive qualities which, once upon a time, were considered to be attributes that one strove to cultivate in their own character.

I’m speaking of virtues such as loyalty, bravery, camaraderie, patriotism, self-sacrifice, humility, and honor. if you believe in these Qualities we ask you to support the veteran's Project

In closeing of this article let me state for the record !!!

AS TRUE PATRIOTS THESE ARE THE PRINCIPLES ON WHICH WE STAND: GOD, CONSTITUTION, COUNTRY AND OUR NATIONS VETERANS. GOD IS FIRST AND FOREMOST WITH US. FOR APART FROM GOD THERE IS NO FREEDOM ! THOSE WHO REFUSE TO BE GOVERNED BY GOD SHALL BE RULED BY TYRANTS!!!

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS 'CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS'. OUR RIGHTS, FREEDOMS AND LIBERTIES ARE UNALIENABLE MEANING THEY ARE ENDOWED ON US BY OUR CREATOR, GOD ALONE! WE HAVE NO OTHER AUTHORITY TO WHICH WE MUST GO IN ORDER TO HAVE AND EXERCISE OUR RIGHTS. OUR CONSTITUTION SERVES 'ONLY' AS A WRITTEN GUARANTEE FROM GOVERNMENT THAT IT WILL NOT INFRINGE ON OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHTS, FREEDOMS AND LIBERTIES !!!

OUR COUNTRY WAS BUILT ON CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES. THEY ARE THE CORNERSTONE OF OUR SUCCESS AS A COUNTRY. A COUNTRY WITHOUT GOD IS AS A SHIP WITHOUT A RUDDER TOSSED TOO AND FRO BY THE STORMS OF THIS WORLD TO END ONLY IN SHIPWRECK. AS TRUE PATRIOTS WE MUST STAND IN PLACE OF THAT MISSING RUDDER STEERING OUR COUNTRY BACK TO GOD AND OUR CONSTITUTION!!!

WE MUST ALWAYS REMEMBER TO HONOR OUR NATIONS VETERANS, THOSE WHO HAVE MADE THE NECESSARY SACRIFICES UP TO AND INCLUDING THE GIVING OF ONES LIFE IN DEFENSE OF OUR GOD, CONSTITUTION AND COUNTRY! IT IS A DEBT WE CAN NEVER REPAY! THEY DESERVE BOTH HONOR AND RESPECT AND IT IS OUR GOAL TO SEE THAT THEY GET IT!!!?
