Article V option contained within the Constitution.
Article V was presciently inserted into the Constitution precisely for the same type of unhinged, run-away government we see today
Dangerous Feckless Ignorance
Ladies and Gentlemen, have you had an opportunity to read The Liberty Amendments; Restoring the American Republic by Mark Levin?
An incurious collection of people either haven’t read it or completely failed to grasp the contents, yet have unusually strong opinions as to why it’s outrageously dangerous for the republic or insignificant and readily dismissible.
Talking heads and “analysts” on radio and T.V. as well as those writing at websites often skewer with feckless ignorance the Article V option contained within the Constitution.
I recently bumped into a ludicrous Facebook thread based upon the unreal conclusions of one writer about the supposed risks of taking up the Article V provision to bi-pass congress and amend the Constitution through the states. Other than wild ad hominem attacks on Mark Levin coupled with fabrications of truth, his personal screed offered nothing.
Alarm system warnings for the informed reader are usually activated at the point when writers or talking head “analysts” keep referring to Article V as a “Constitutional Convention.” Article V relates to a convention of the states for the purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution; an event now referred to by some as a “Amendment Convention.”
Uninformed and Erroneous
The muddled, laughably fictitious mess being discussed on the Facebook thread I encountered was uninformed and erroneous. To counter the central theme: There is no Constitutional Convention being called for, nor is there any such provision in place to allow one in the Constitution.
The most significant attraction of Article V is that it bi-passes the legislature; no involvement from Congress or “permission” is needed to amend the Constitution under Article V, as the Framers understood Congress would likely be a significant part of the problem if Article V was required as a last-ditch attempt to right our ship of state and restore our American Constitutional Republic.
Article V was presciently inserted into the Constitution precisely for the same type of unhinged, run-away government we see today abusing the tax-paying American citizen; squashing liberty, property ownership rights and economic stability; squandering not only wealth but the wealth-creating miracle of free capital markets and the creative environment they foster for entrepreneurs and businessmen, ultimately costing jobs and causing untold hardships for working families across America.
Article V provides for the states to call a convention for the express purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution through appointed individual delegates of the states; the individual states give their delegates specific instructions and may recall the delegates if representation of the states as instructed by the states is compromised or for any reason unsatisfactory.
A Return to Constitutional Governance
Article V is – at its’ heart – about adding amendments to address constitutional violations unconsidered by the Framers relating to government abuse of power; it is about bringing a return to constitutional governance rather than attacking the Constitution. Article V is also about federalism and the power of the states residing “with the states.” The states constitute our American Constitutional Republic; not the federal Leviathan, which works relentlessly to undermine state sovereignty.
Once the two thirds of the states (it may be all fifty but no less than two thirds) have reached agreement on which specific amendments will be placed on the ballots of the states, all fifty states would then vote on ratification, with three quarters of the states in favor before final adoption of the amendments.
Everyone should read The Liberty Amendments; Restoring the American Republic. My recent poem Restoring the Republic, http://josephfreedomoranarchy.blogspot.com/2014/01/restoring-republic.html may help place Article V succinctly in its’ proper context if you’ve not had time to read Mark Levin’s wonderful book on a “last possibility” to “secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity” provided us by the Framers: Gentlemen of virtue and remarkable insight into the historical makeup and nature of man.

Anyone is welcome to use their voice here at FREEDOM OR ANARCHY,Campaign of Conscience.THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN AMERICA FOR THOSE WITH OUT MONEY if you seek real change and the truth the first best way is to use the power of the human voice and unite the world in a common cause our own survival I believe that to meet the challenges of our times, human beings will have to develop a greater sense of universal responsibility. Each of us must learn to work not just for oneself, ones own family or ones nation, but for the benefit of all humankind. Universal responsibility is the key to human survival. It is the best foundation for world peace,“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed.
