MEN OF PEACE
"I don't know how to save the world. I don't have the answers or The Answer. I hold no secret knowledge as to how to fix the mistakes of generations past and present. I only know that without compassion and respect for all Earth's inhabitants, none of us will survive - nor will we deserve to." Leonard Peltier

Islamist Murders 50+ in Orlando 'Gay Bar

Islamist Murders 50+ in Orlando 'Gay Bar

Omar Saddiqui Mateen was the son of Afghan immigrants — and is also a U.S. citizen. We know that Islamic cultures worldwide are as “tolerant” of homosexuals as they are of women, thus it was no surprise to learn that the man who brutally murdered more than 50 people in a homosexual bar in Orlando early Sunday morning — the worst mass shooting in U.S. history — was an Islamist radical.
The FBI agent in charge of the initial investigation said, “We do have suggestions that that individual may have leanings toward that particular ideology.” Wonder what “particular ideology” than might be.
CBS News reports that authorities are “leaning towards Islamic terrorism” as a motive. Also, “Authorities are also investigating whether the shooting was a hate crime.” (Regardless of the motive, this IS a hate crime. All murders are “hate crimes,” a term that Barack Obama and his leftist cadres reserve for crimes based on race or sexual disorientation.)
The assailant called 911 and swore allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State shortly before the massacre. The Islamic State soon claimed responsibility. Pete King (R-NY), Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, says that Mateen was “trained in weapons,” adding, “I don’t want to release it before [the FBI does], but I can understand why the FBI was so quick to say this morning that they thought this had ISIS connections…”
And, don’t buy any of the “lone wolf” nonsense — Islamic terrorist assailants worldwide are tied to one ideology.
I have spent a few years associated with counterterrorism analytical groups over the course of five presidential administration’s since 1980. While we have always been concerned about WMD attacks, and Obama’s “Iranian deal” certainly ratchets up the potential of that threat vector, the most likely terrorist threats have always been low intensity and technology threats. The 9/11 attacks started with box cutters. Attacks like Chattanooga, San Bernardino and Orlando also low-tech.
Predictably, Obama used the tragedy to pander to one of his constituency groups, and promote his “gun control” agenda. “[W]e know enough to say that this was an act of terror and an act of hate,” declared Obama. But, he added, “We’ve reached no definitive judgment on the precise motivations of the killer.” Yet he certainly had reached a definitive judgment on the course of action: “The shooter was apparently armed with a handgun and a powerful assault rifle. This massacre is therefore a further reminder of how easy it is for someone to get their hands on a weapon that lets them shoot people in a school, or in a house of worship, or a movie theater, or in a nightclub. And we have to decide if that’s the kind of country we want to be. And to actively do nothing is a decision as well.”
The words “Muslim” and “Islam” never crossed his lips. Indeed, Obama is the one “actively doing nothing” — about radical Islamic terror.
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) chided, “I know the pain and sadness that has brought too many communities — Newtown, Oregon, Aurora, San Bernardino, and now Orlando — to their knees, and I can only hope that America’s leaders will do something to prevent another community from being added to the list. This phenomenon of near constant mass shootings happens only in America — nowhere else. Congress has become complicit in these murders by its total, unconscionable deafening silence.”
Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who just gave voting rights to murderers still in prison, tweeted, “Praying for victims, families & an end to senseless gun violence.”
MSNBC National Correspondent Joy Reid declared, “Whether it’s a hate crime or whether it’s related to something related to international terrorism, we’re not getting to the core issue, which is how easy it is to get a gun.”
Memo to the Demo-gogues and MSM pundits: The assailant is a “murderer,” not a “gunman.” The attack occurred in a “gun free” zone. And, if Obama could waive his executive “magic wand” and remove all firearms from the United States, may I remind you that Islamist have murdered far more civilians with simple bomb components. Recall that there were more than three times the number of casualties in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing than in Orlando. That bomb was composed of readily available fertilizer and diesel fuel. Again, this is not a “gun problem.” And for the record, tens of MILLIONS of innocent men women and children have been slaughtered once there means of self-defense was confiscated. See Stalin, Hitler, Mao, et al.
On the subject of political agendas, Mateen was a registered Democrat voter.
And on the subject of contributing factors to such heinous acts of violence, an Islamist imam who preached it was merciful to murder homosexuals, came to Orlando in April of this year
Our prayers are with the families of the dead and wounded.
